Abstract
Behaviorial problems in autistic children are one of the problem faced by autistic children. Maladaptive behavior that occurs in research subjects in the form of disruptive behaviors of friends/others (maladaptive externalizing) that has occurred for a long time and there is no proper handling so that is has an impact on the people around them. The use of the social story method used in this study, the social story method is an intervention method in the form of social stories that are tailored to the needs or goals of the intervention itself in developing social skill or expected behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the social story method in reducing the maladaptive behavior of children with autism in grade IV SDKh at SKh Griya Mandiri. The method used is the experimental method for single subject research. The target bahavior in this study is maladaptive behavior in autistic children can be reduced or decreased. The results of the study in reducing maladaptive behavior in autistic children obtained an average percentage or mean level from the baseline 1 (A1), intervention (B) and baseline 2 (A2) phases, namely 11,25 (A1), 5,87 (B), 3,75 (A2). From the data obtained, it can be concluded that the use of the social story method can reduce the maladaptive behavior of autistic children in grade IV SDKh at SKh Griya Mandiri.

| Additional Information: | Permasalahan perilaku pada anak autis menjadi salah satu permasalahan yang dihadapi anak autis. Perilaku maladaptif yang terjadi pada subjek penelitian berupa perilaku mengganggu teman/orang lain (maladaptif externalizing) yang sudah terjadi sejak lama dan belum adanya penanganan yang tepat sehingga menimbulkan dampak pada orang disekitarnya. Penerapan metode social story digunakan dalam penelitian ini, metode social story merupakan metode intervensi berupa cerita sosial yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan ataupun tujuan intervensi itu sendiri dalam mengembangkan keterampilan sosial atau perilaku yang diharapkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode social story dalam mengurangi perilaku maladaptif anak autis kelas IV SDKh di SKh Griya Mandiri. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimen untuk penelitian subjek tunggal. Target behavior dalam penelitian ini yaitu perilaku maladaptif pada anak autis dapat berkurang atau menurun. Hasil penelitian dalam mengurangi perilaku maladaptif pada anak autis memperoleh rata-rata presentase atau mean level dari fase baseline1 (A1), intervensi (B) dan baseline 2 (A2) yaitu 11,25 (A1), 5,87 (B), 3,75 (A2). Dari data yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa perilaku maladaptif anak autis berkurang atau menurun, dilihat dari presentase yang terus menurun setelah memperolehnya intervensi melalui penerapan metode social story, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode social story dapat mengurangi perilaku maladaptif anak autis kelas IV SDkh di SKh Griya Mandiri. | |||||||||
