Abstract

Critical thinking skills are needed today in everyday life to solve existing problems. For this reason, teachers should use the discovery learning model. This model requires students to process their thinking skills through discovering the problems given by the teacher. This study aims to determine: 1). Planning discovery learning model based on critical thinking skills, 2). Implementation of the discovery learning model based on critical thinking skills, 3). Evaluation of the implemantation of the discovery learning model based on critical thinking skills in thematic learning. The method used in this research is qualitative, then the data collection tecnique is through interviews, observation, and documentation. The result of this study are: 1). The teacher prepares lesson plans by paying atteneion to the characteristics of students and class conditions that are adapted to the stages of the discovery learning model, teaching materials adapted to learning objectives, learning media, and making LKPD according to the studentbooks, 2). The implementation of the discovery learning model includes: stimulus, problem identification, data collector, data processing, verification, and generalization, 3). Class VB students seem to have crirical thinking skills, while the characteristics of students critical thinking that appear during thematic lessons include: thinking logically, having a point of view, actively asking questions, and having curiosity.

Additional Information: Keterampilan berpikir kritis sangat dibutuhkan saat ini dalam kehidupan sehari-hari guna memecahkan permasalahan yang ada. Untuk itu sebaiknya guru menggunakan model discovery learning. Model ini menuntut peserta didik mengolah kemampuan berpikirnya melalui penemuan terhadap permasalahan yang diberikan guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui : 1). Perencanaan model discovery learning berbasis keterampilan berpikir kritis, 2). Pelaksanaan model discovery learning berbasis keterampilan berpikir kritis, 3). Evaluasi dari pelaksanaan model discovery learning berbasis keterampilan berpikir kritis pada pembelajaran tematik. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif, kemudian teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu: 1). Guru menyusun RPP dengan memperhatikan karakteristik peserta didik dan kondisi kelas yang disesuaikan dengan tahapan model discovery learning, bahan ajar disesuaikan dengan tujuan pembelajaran, media pembelajaran, dan membuat LKPD sesuai dengan buku siswa. 2). Pelaksanaan model discovery learning memuat : pemberi stimuus, identifikasi masalah, pengumpul data, pengolah data, pembuktian, dan kesimpulan. 3). Peserta didik kelas VB terlihat memiliki keterampilan berpkir kritis, adapun ciri-ciri berpikir kritis peserta didik yang muncul pada saat pemelajaran tematik diantaranya: berpikir logis dan analitis, memiliki sudut pandang, aktif bertanya, dan memiliki rasa ingin tahu.
