Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of preheat on various tests such as hardness, tensile testing, and metallography on solid dissimilar materials between iron and aluminum. The results of this study are seen from the graphic results, it can be concluded that the final value of the Extension at Break tensile test in the preheat treatment at 200ºC is 0.14%, 250ºC is 0.20%, and 300ºC is 0.25%. From these results the highest Extension at Break value occurs at 300ºC, which is 0.25%. Then the conclusion from the results of the hardness test data follows that in the preheat treatment the temperature was 200ºC with a value of 53.38HV and at a temperature of 250ºC with a value of 70.22HV and finally at a temperature of 300ºC it was 123.99HV. Then from the image of the metallographic test results it can be seen that the image of the connection between aluminum and iron shows brittle properties where it is very solid or more fused at 300°C compared to 200°C and 250°C. The preheat treatment of ferrous materials is carried out so that the material temperatures are not too far apart and the results of various tests can be concluded that the preheat current or the addition of temperature is very influential, the greater the temperature given, the greater the connection value. Additional Information: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh preheat terhadap berbagai uji seperti kekerasan, uji tarik, dan metalografi pada material disimilar pejal antara besi dengan aluminum. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dilihat dari hasil grafik dapat disimpulkan nilai hasil akhir Extension at Break uji tarik pada perlakuan preheat suhu 200ºC yaitu 0,14%, 250ºC yaitu 0,20%, dan 300ºC yaitu 0,25%. Dari hasil tersebut nilai Extension at Break paling tinggi terjadi pada suhu 300ºC yaitu 0,25%. Kemudian kesimpulan hasil data uji kekerasan berikut bahwa pada perlakuan preheat suhu 200ºC dengan nilai 53,38HV dan pada suhu 250ºC dengan nilai sebesar 70,22HV dan terakhir pada suhu 300ºC sebesar 123,99HV. Kemudian dari gambar hasil uji metalografi dapat dilihat bahwa gambar sambungan antara aluminium dengan besi menunjukan sifat getas yang dimana bahwa sangat solid atau lebih menyatu pada suhu 300ºC dibandingkan dengan suhu 200ºC dan 250ºC. Perlakuan preheat pada material besi dilakukan agar suhu material tidak terlalu jauh perbandingan nya dan hasil dari berbagai pengujian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengarus preheat atau penambahan suhu sangat mempengaruhi, semakin besar suhu yang diberikan maka semakin besar pula nilai sambungan.
