Abstract

ABSTRACT IMPROVING STUDENTS’ WRITING RECOUNT TEXT BY USING DIARY AS MEDIAAT THE EIGHTH GRADE OF SMPN 1 KRAMATWATU SERANG (A CLASSROOM ACTION RESEARCH) By 1 Iin Fatimah 2223102645 This research paper is entitled: Improving Students’ Writing Recount Text by Using Diary as Media at The Eighth Grade of SMPN 1 Kramatwatu Serang (A Classroom Action Research).The main objectives of this research are to find out the process and the result of teaching writing recount text to eighth grade students of SMNPN 1 Kramatwatu Serang in the academic year 2014/2015.This research used Classroom Action Research as a method.The population was the eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Kramatwatu Serang that consisted of 26 students as the sample. The first step is pre-test. Each cycle consist of three meetings.The process of teaching activities ran very well and the students responses in cycle I and cycle II very anthusiasm and active in teaching and learning activities.. As the result of Improving students writing recount text using diary as a media can be seen in the pre-test the average score of students was 38.26, while after giving treatment in cycle I the students average score was 76.23. then after giving treatment in cycle II students average score was 83.84. Based on the description above, it can be conclude that using diary as a media , students can improve their ability in writing recount text, besides the learning activities become more enjoyable and enthuiasm Key words: writing, recount, diary, media
