Abstract

The Role Playing method is used as one of the learning methods used to teach mentally retarded children how to interact with other people. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the role playing method on increasing interaction skills in mentally retarded children at SKh Korpri Pandeglang. SMALB and SMPLB students in grades VIII, IX and X were the subjects of the study, with a total of 3 subjects, who had poor interaction skills which were characterized by (lack of good interaction with friends in class, children tending to be quiet and aloof and indifferent to the environment). The experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design was used for this study. Data collection was carried out through tests and then analyzed using the Wilcoxon Test. Based on calculations carried out with the Wilcoxon test for the application of the role playing method to the interaction abilities of mentally retarded children, the result is that tcount = 6 and the critical value of the Wilcoxon test is at a significance level of 0.05 with N = 3, T table = 0, indicating that H0 is rejected because Tcount is bigger than Ttable. This shows that the hypothesis proposed in the study is accepted. And shows that the role playing method at SKh Korpri Pandeglang is proven to improve the ability to interact with mentally retarded children. Additional Information: Metode Role Playing dijadikan sebagai salah satu metode pembelajaran yang digunakan untuk mengajarkan anak tunagrahita cara berinteraksi dengan orang lain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode role playing terhadap peningkatkan kemampuan interaksi pada anak tunagrahita di SKh Korpri Pandeglang. Siswa SMALB dan SMPLB kelas VIII,IX dan X menjadi subjek penelitian, dengan jumlah keseluruhan subjek 3 orang, yang memiliki kemampuan interaksi yang masih kurang yang ditandai dengan (kurang terjalinnya interaksi dengan baik bersama temannya di kelas, anak cenderung pendiam dan menyendiri serta bersikap acuh terhadap lingkungan). Metode eksperimen dengan one-group pretest-posttest design digunakan untuk penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan melalui tes kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon. Berdasarkan perhitungan yang dilakukan dengan uji wilcoxon untuk penerapan metode role playing terhadap kemampuan interaksi anak tunagrahita didapatkan hasil bahwa thitung = 6 dan nilai kritis uji wilcoxon pada taraf signifikansi 0,05 dengan angka N = 3, T tabel = 0 , menunjukkan bahwa H0 ditolak karena Thitung lebih besar dari Ttabel. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian diterima. Dan menunjukkan bahwa metode role palying di SKh Korpri Pandeglang terbukti meningkatkan kemampuan berinteraksi anak tunagrahita.
