Abstract

Blue Swimming Crab/ BSC (Portunus pelagicus) is the main commodity in Karangantu Archipelago Fishing Port. The fishing activity of Blue Swimming Crab in Banten Bay operates throughout the year. In Banten Bay, already occur decreasing the size of the carapace width of BSC. This condition indicates the BSC commodity is already overfishing and can affect the stock. The purpose of this research is to determine the stock status of BSC based on the Spawning Potential Ratio (SPR) method. Sampling data were collected from December 2021 to February 2022 with a total sample of 7244 consisting of 4448 males and 2796 females using the direct observation method. Data analysis using the Fisat software and web-based application Barefootecologist.com. The result of this research is SPR value of BSC in Banten is about 21%. The length at first capture (Lc) for males is 118.17 mm and for females 117.3 mm. The length at first mature/adult (L50) is 103 mm. The length at first capture size of a female Blue Swimming Crab was greater than the length at first mature which was still worthy of catch. The fishing mortality was greater than the natural mortality indicating overfishing. Management recommendations from this research to BSC fisheries are size allowed captured carapace width minimum of 11.2 cm (based on selected carapace width for fishing activity), ban for gillnet and mini bottom trawl to catch BSC, adjust of mesh size and the escape gaps size for BSC trap.

Additional Information: Rajungan (Portunus pelagicus) merupakan komoditas utama di Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara Karangantu. Kegiatan penangkapan rajungan di Teluk Banten beroperasi sepanjang tahun. Di Teluk Banten, sudah terjadi penurunan ukuran lebar karapas rajungan. Kondisi ini mengindikasikan komoditas BSC sudah overfishing dan dapat mempengaruhi stok. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui status stok BSC berdasarkan metode Spawning Potential Ratio (SPR). Pengambilan data sampel dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2021 sampai Februari 2022 dengan jumlah sampel 7244 yang terdiri dari 4448 jantan dan 2796 betina dengan menggunakan metode pengamatan langsung. Analisis data menggunakan software Fisat dan aplikasi berbasis web Barefootecologist.com. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah nilai SPR BSC di Banten sekitar 21%. Panjang saat pertama kali ditangkap (Lc) untuk jantan 118,17 mm dan betina 117,3 mm. Panjang saat pertama kali dewasa (L50) adalah 103 mm. Ukuran panjang saat pertama kali ditangkap kepiting bakau biru betina lebih besar dari panjang saat pertama kali dewasa yang masih layak tangkap. Mortalitas penangkapan lebih besar dari mortalitas alami yang mengindikasikan penangkapan berlebih. Rekomendasi pengelolaan dari penelitian ini untuk perikanan rajungan adalah ukuran lebar karapas yang diperbolehkan ditangkap minimal 11,2 cm (berdasarkan lebar karapas yang dipilih untuk kegiatan penangkapan), larangan gillnet dan mini bottom trawl untuk menangkap rajungan, penyesuaian ukuran mata jaring dan ukuran celah pelolosan rajungan.
