Abstract

Teenagers often experience confusion to be useful individuals. A teenager must have self-confidence, one of the effects of a person's lack of confidence when they got bullied. However, in reality, there were still students who make fun of their friends. Based on this phenomenon, this study aimed to determine the relationship between bullying and adolescent self-confidence. This type of research was quantitative research with correlational methods. The subjects in this study were 111 students of grades VIII and IX at SMP Negeri 4 Pandeglang who were taken through a purposive sampling. The data collection method used was a bullying verbal. The general description of bullying was in the low category with a percentage of 56% and the general description of self-confidence was in the high category with a percentage of 56%. The data obtained were analyzed using product moment. In this study, it showed that the hypothesis Has was accepted, which means that there was a relationship between bullying and self-confidence with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 and a correlation value of -0.544 which was classified as a medium correlation category and had a negative relationship, namely, the higher the value of bullying, the lower confidence value. The determination value (R Square) of 0.296 meant that bullying had a 29.6% relationship to self-confidence and the remaining 70.4% came from other variables not examined by researchers that can contribute to self-confidence. The implication of the results of this study was the guidance and counseling information media in the form of pamphlets.

Additional Information: Remaja biasanya sering mengalami kebingungan untuk menjadi individu yang bermanfaat. Seorang remaja harus memiliki kepercayaan diri, salah satu dampak seseorang kurang percaya diri jika mendapatkan bullying. Namun pada kenyataannya masih terdapat siswa yang mengejek temannya. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan bullying verbal dengan kepercayaan diri remaja. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 111 siswa kelas VIII dan IX SMP Negeri 4 Pandeglang yang diambil melalu teknik purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan skala ukur bullying verbal 48 item dengan nilai reliabilitas 0.914 dan skala ukur kepercayaan diri 47 item dengan nilai reliabilitas 0.874. Gambaran umum bullying verbal berada pada kategori rendah dengan persentase sebesar 56% dan gambaran umum kepercayaan diri berada pada kategoti tinggi dengan persentase sebesar 56%.data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis product moment. Pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis Ha diterima yang artinya terdapat hubungan antara bullying verbal dengan kepercayaan diri dengan nilai signifikansi 0.000<0.05 dan nilai korelsi sebesar - 0.544 yang tergolong kategori korelasi sedang dan memiliki hubungan yang negatif yakni, semakin tinggi nilai bullying verbal maka semakin rendah nilai kepercayaan diri. Nilai determinasi (R Square) sebesar 0.296 dapat diartikan bahwa bullying verbal memberikan hubungan sebesar 29.6% terhadap kepercayaan diri dan sisanya 70.4% berasal dari variabel lain yang tidak diteliti oleh peneliti yang dapat memberi kontribusi terhadap kepercayaan diri. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini adalah media informasi Bimbingan dan Konseling berupa pamflet.
