Abstract

Okra plant is one of the highly nutritious vegetable commodities. Consuming okra fruit can prevent cancer, lower cholesterol, and balance blood sugar as well as relieve asthma symptoms and also play a role in the formation of the fetal tube for pregnant women because the fruit itself contains folic acid. The purpose of this study is to determine the response of several concentrations of Local Micro-Organisms (LMO) administration to the growth and yield of two varieties of okra (Abelmoschus esculantus L.). The research design used was a factorial Group Randomized Design, among which the first factor is the administration of several concentrations of LMO and the second factor being okra plant varieties. The first factor is the concentration of a local Micro-Organisms consisting of five degrees, namely: No LMO, 5, 10, 15, 20 ml. The second factor is the okra plant variety consisting of two degrees, namely: the IPB Zahira variety, the Lucky Five variety. Thus, there were 10 combinations of treatment and repeated four times, resulting to 40 experimental units. The results of the carried out research can be concluded as follows: The use of LMO concentration had a very significant effect on the parameters of plant height at the age of 2 WAP (22.88) and 3 WAP (30.50), it also had a significant effect on the parameter number of branches at the age of 2 WAP (2.00) and a very significant effect on the age of 3 WAP (3.00) This administration had also significantly affected the stem diameter parameters at the age of 3 WAP (1,22 cm), 4 WAP (1,58 cm), and fruit length (15.10). Therefore, the use of 20 ml LMO concentration gave the best effect compared to other treatments. The use of the Lucky Five variety had a very significant effect on the parameters of the number of leaves, the number of branches, the number of fruits, as well as the wet weight of the fruit.

Additional Information: Budidaya tanaman okra di Indonesia masih terbatas. Hal ini yang menyebabkan hasil produksi tanaman okra di Indonesia cukup rendah. perlunya dikembangkan produksi dan kualitasnya,. Tanaman okra membutuhkan nutrisi untuk menunjang pertumbuhannya. Salah satu penambahan Mikroorganisme lokal (MOL) dapat berfungsi mempercepat proses pengomposan yang berasal dari bahan organik alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pemberian beberapa konsentrasi MOL terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil dari dua varietas okra (Abelmoschus esculantus L.). Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor dan diulang sebanyak 4 kali. Faktor pertama adalah pemberian beberapa konsentrasi mikroorganisme lokal yang terdiri 5 taraf, yaitu: Tanpa MOL, 5, 10, 15, dan 20 ml konsentrasi dan faktor kedua adalah varietas yang terdiri dari 2 taraf, yaitu: Varietas Zahira IPB, dan Varietas Lucky Five. parameter dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah cabang, diameter batang, jumlah buah, bobot basah buah, diameter buah, panjang buah, rasio panjang dan diameter buah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian MOL berpengaruh nyata pada parameter jumlah cabang (2 MST), diameter batang (3 dan 4 MST), panjang buah (9 MST), serta menunjukkan pengaruh sangat nyata terhadap parameter pengamatan tinggi tanaman (2 dan 3 MST), jumlah cabang (3 MST). Kemudian untuk perlakuan varietas menunjukan pengaruh sangat nyata pada parameter jumlah daun (2, 3, dan 4 MST), jumlah cabang (1, 2, dan 3 MST), jumlah buah (9 MST), bobot basah buah, rasio panjang dan diameter buah. Sedangkan untuk perlakuan interaksi tidak menunjukan pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman okra.
