Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effect of various physical scarification and the level of potassium nitrate (KNO3) concentration on the germination of mountain soursop (Annona montana Macfad) seeds. This research was carried out at the Research Greenhouse in Purwodadi Botanic Garden, Research Center of Plant Conservation, Botanic Garden and Forestry, National Research and Innovation Agency from January to March 2022. The study used a randomized block design (RBD) which was arranged in a factorial manner and consisted of two factors. The first factor was various physical scarification of the seeds (without scarification, scratching, shearing, and sanding). The second factor was the concentration level of the KNO3 solution (0,2%, 0,4%, and 0,6%). There were 12 combinations with 3 replications so there were 36 experimental units. The parameters measured were germination age (days), normal germination percentage (%), abnormal germination percentage (%), maximum growth potential (%), germination capacity (%), and growth rate (%/day). The results showed that shearing physical scarification did not gave the best affect on the germination of mountain soursop seeds. The concentration level of the KNO3 solution 0,4% gave the best affect on germination age (days) of mountain soursop seeds. There was no interaction between physical scarification and concentration level of the KNO3 solution for all parameters observed of mountain soursop seeds.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai perlakuan skarifikasi fisik dan konsentrasi kalium nitrat (KNO₃) terhadap perkecambahan biji sirsak gunung (Annona montana Macfad). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Rumah Kaca Riset di Kebun Raya Purwodadi, Pusat Penelitian Konservasi Tumbuhan, Kebun Raya dan Kehutanan, Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional pada bulan Januari hingga Maret 2022. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang disusun dalam faktorial dan terdiri dari dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah berbagai skarifikasi fisik benih (tanpa skarifikasi, garukan, pencukuran, dan pengamplasan). Faktor kedua adalah kadar konsentrasi larutan KNO₃ (0,2%, 0,4%, dan 0,6%). Terdapat 12 kombinasi dengan 3 ulangan sehingga terdapat 36 satuan percobaan. Parameter yang diamati adalah umur berkecambah (hari), persentase kecambah normal (%), persentase kecambah abnormal (%), potensi tumbuh maksimum (%), daya berkecambah (%), dan kecepatan tumbuh (%/hari). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skarifikasi fisik dengan pengguntingan pada ujung benih tidak memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap perkecambahan benih sirsak gunung. Tingkat konsentrasi larutan KNO₃ 0,4% memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap umur berkecambah (hari) benih sirsak gunung. Tidak terdapat interaksi antara skarifikasi fisik dan tingkat konsentrasi larutan KNO₃ untuk semua parameter yang diamati pada benih sirsak gunung. | ||||||||||||
