Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the effect of the guided inquiry learning model on students' critical thinking skills in social studies subjects in grade V. (2) to determine whether there are differences in students' critical thinking skills after the guided inquiry learning model and direct learning model are applied. instructions). The research method used is quasi-experimental. The research design is nonequivalent control group design. Data collection techniques using tests and non-tests. The results showed that there was an influence of the guided inquiry learning model on students' critical thinking skills and differences in students' critical thinking skills before and after the guided inquiry learning model was applied. The average posttest in guided inquiry learning is greater than the pretest, namely 83.89 > 49.47. Test paired samples t test pair value 1 sig. of 0.000 <0.05 and pair 2 sig. of 0.000 <0.05 so it can be concluded that there is an influence of the guided inquiry learning model on students' critical thinking skills. The experimental posttest average was greater than the control posttest, namely 83.89 > 71.89. Test independent samples t test, obtained Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.002 <0.05 so that it can be concluded that there are differences in students' critical thinking skills after being applied the guided inquiry learning model and the direct instruction model.

Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dan perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing. Rata-rata posttest pada pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing lebih besar dari pretest yaitu 83,89 > 49,47. Uji paired samples t test nilai pair 1 sig. sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 dan pair 2 nilai sig. sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Rata-rata posttest eksperimen lebih besar dari posttest kontrol yaitu 83,89 > 71,89. Uji independent samples t test, diperoleh nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,002 < 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sesudah diterapkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dan model pembelajaran langsung (direct instruction).
