Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop teaching materials at senior high school level by using digital chemistry module through learning experience approach in acid - base lesson. The benefits of the module examined are students’ interest and students’ learning outcomes at graders of XI IPA. The method of the research adapt from the research procedure and development of Borg and Gall. Needs analysis involved 18 chemistry teachers of Serang regency and 29 students. The results showed that teachers and students are support the development of acid – base modules. The stage of development consist of 2 subject expert, 2 learning design experts, and 2 media experts as a valuator the draft of initial module. Individual test involved 9 students XII IPA grade of SMAN 1 Mancak. Limited test conducted at 9 schools in Serang regency that divided into 3 east rayon schools, 3 central rayon schools and 3 west rayon schools. Each school rayon is divided into superior, middle and bottom. In the test of module usefulness consist of 48 students XI IPA grade of SMAN 1 Mancak which is divided into a control group and experimental group. The result of validation showed that (1) validation of subject experts are at a good qualifying with the mean 78,23% (2) validation of learning design experts are at a very good qualifying with the mean 94,33% (3) validation of media experts are at a very good qualifying with the mean 83,25% (4) validation results of individual are at a very good qualifying with the mean 87,10% (5) field trials are at a very good qualifying with the mean 84,11% (6) the test of usefulness on learning outcomes put the mean score 42,54 for the control class. It showed that there is differentiate mean of the students’ learning outcomes. The result of t-test explains that differentiation both learning outcomes are not significant. However, the mean of students’ interest are 84, 21% which is showed that students very interested in the acid – base module. Therefore, it can be concludes that acid – base module which has been created can be accepted and used as a relevant teaching material for learning at senior high school level of Serang regency.
