Abstract

Additional Information: | The Fluidized Bed Dryer (FBD) system dryer is a dryer that uses the principle of fluidization. The working principle of this fluidization system drying machine is by blowing hot air by a blower fan through a channel to the top of the drying tub. The purpose of this final project is (a) applying a temperature control system using Arduino Uno on a soybean drying system using the Fluidized Bed Dryer (FBD) method on a laboratory scale, (b) determining the best drying conditions based on the greatest thermal efficiency and the fastest drying time to obtain the best drying conditions. The final moisture content of soybean seeds is around 11%. The dried material is 176 grams of soybean anjasmoro variety which has been soaked in water for 3 days in the refrigerator. The initial moisture content of soybean seeds before drying is 52%. Drying is carried out with a total of 6 variations of drying, namely with temperatures of 35oC, 45oC, and 55oC and air velocities of 4 m/s and 6 m/s. The results of the best drying conditions were obtained at the drying temperature setting variation of 55oC with an air speed of 6m/s, namely with a thermal efficiency of 6.17% with a drying time of 70 minutes for a moisture content of 11.2%. | |||||||||
