Abstract
As an archipelagic country, Indonesia needs marine vehicles as a means of transportation for crossings, fishing, tourism and others. Ironwood is usually used as a fishing boat hull material to catch fish, but ironwood is ineffective because the dimensions of the wood cannot be adjusted according to the needs of the boat, therefore composites are used as an alternative material for fishing boat hulls so that the size and dimensions of the material can be adjusted accordingly. with boat building needs. Hemp fiber was chosen as a candidate for composite reinforcement because hemp has the highest tensile strength among other natural fibers and also the choice of epoxy as a matrix because it is resistant to environmental degradation. The results showed that the highest tensile strength of the flax-epoxy woven composite was 28.333 MPa, then after 7 days of immersion the value decreased to 27,333 MPa and then decreased again after 23 days of immersion to 21 MPa. Meanwhile, the result of the impact test before being immersed in seawater was 0.0082 J/mm2. after 7 days of immersion the value decreased to 0.0078 J/mm2. Then on 23 days of immersion the value rose to 0.0109 J/mm2.

Additional Information: | Sebagai negara kepulauan, Indonesia membutuhkan kendaraan laut sebagai alat transoprtasi untuk penyebrangan, menangkap ikan, wisata dan lain-lain. Kayu ulin biasanya digunkana sebgai material lambung perahu nelayan untuk menangkap ikan, tetapi penggunaan kayu ulin tidak efektif sebab ukuran dimensi kayu tidak bisa atur sesuai kebutuhan pembuatan perahu, maka dari itu komposit dijadikan alternativ bahan lambung perahu nelayan agar kebutuhan ukuran dan dimensi material bisa diatur sesuai dengan kebutuhan pembuatan perahu. Serat rami dijadikan sebagai kandidat penguat komposit karena rami memiliki kekuatan tarik tertinggi diantara serat alam lainnya dan juga pemilihan epoksi sebagai matriks karena sifatnya yang tahan terhadap ddegradasi lingkungan. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil bahwa kekuatan tarik tertinggi komposit tenun rami-epoksi adalah 28,333 Mpa lalu setelah perendaman 7 hari nilainya turun menjadi 27,333 Mpa kemudian turun lagi setelah perendaman 23 hari menjadi 21 Mpa. Sementara itu, hasil uji impak sebelum direndam air laut sebesar 0,0082 J/mm2. etelah 7 hari perendaman nilainya turun menjadi sebesar 0,0078 J/mm2. Kemudian pada 23 hari perendaman nilainya naik menjadi 0,0109 J/mm2. | |||||||||
