Abstract
Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) tool is used to increase oxygen quality by adsorption process. One of the adsorbent media can be used is zeolite. Zeolite is an aluminosilicate tetrahydrate crystalline mineral. This research was conducted to improve the quality of oxygen to help in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic using PSA tool with 13X Zeolite as adsorbent media. The purpose of this research is to design and bulid a semi-automatic double bed pressure swing adsorption (PSA) device based on a microcontroller with 13X zeolite adsorbent media. The research methodology used is the method of designing Pahl and Beitz. The result of this research is the design of pressure vessel that is adsorber tank and oxygen tank, and the presentation of oxygen was generate. The dimentions of the pressure vessel’s parts is such as shell diameter 228.24 mm, shell height 684.72 mm, head height 57.06 mm, and the wall thickness 3.2 mm. The capacity of adsorber tank is 1.714 kg and oxygen tank capacity is 30.812 liters. PSA tool is tested for four times with the average of the presentation oxygen was generate is 32.55%.

Additional Information: | Alat Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) adalah alat yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas oksigen dengan proses adsorpsi. Salah satu media adsorben yang dapat digunakan adalah zeolit. Zeolit adalah mineral kristal alumina silika tetrahidrat berpori. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas oksigen untuk membantu di tengah pandemi COVID-19 menggunakan alat PSA dengan media adsorben 13X. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah merancang & membangun alat pressure swing adsorption (PSA) double bed semi otomatis berbasis mikrokontroler dengan media adsorben zeolit sintesis 13X. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian kali ini adalah metode perancangan Pahl and Beitz. Adapun hasil penelitian ini yaitu rancangan bejana tekan berupa tabung adsorber dan tabung oksigen dan persentase oksigen yang dihasilkan. Dimensi pada komponen bejana tekana yaitu diameter shell 228.24 mm, tinggi shell 684.72 mm, tinggi head 57.06 mm, dan tebal dinding 3.2 mm. Kapasitas tabung adsorber sebesar 1.714 kg dan kapasitas tabung oksigen sebesar 30.812 liter. Percobaan alat PSA dilakukan sebanyak empat kali dengan rata-rata persentase oksigen yang dihasilkan adalah 32.55%. | |||||||||
