Abstract

In the construction sector, soil is a basic component that must be considered when building something on it. Soil with high bearing capacity is good soil, while soil with low bearing capacity is poor soil. Cibingbin village is one of the areas that has clay soil types with low soil bearing capacity, as evidenced by field testing of the Dynamic Cone Penetrometer, the CBR value is 2,67%, with this value soil improvement efforts can be made, one of which is chemical stabilization. The purpose of this study was to determine the classification of soil types based on the Unified soil classification system (USCS) by testing grain size analysis, and Atterberg limits. Soil stabilization efforts carried out in this study were the addition of sengon wood ash in the UCT test with variations in the addition of 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, and 12% of the dry weight of the soil with variations in curing for 0, 7, 14, and 28 days. From the results of the study, it was obtained that the soil classification in Cibingbin Village based on the USCS classification system, the soil was included in the (CH) category or the type of high plasticity inorganic clay. The value of the optimum unconfined compressive strength (qu) in the UCT test was obtained in a test with 7 days of curing, the percentage of 12% ash was 5.02 kg/cm2.

Additional Information: Dalam bidang konstruksi, tanah merupakan komponen dasar yang harus diperhatikan saat akan membangun sesuatu di atasnya. Tanah yang memiliki daya dukung tinggi adalah tanah yang baik, sedangkan tanah yang memiliki daya dukung yang rendah adalah tanah yang kurang baik. Desa Cibingbin merupakan salah satu daerah yang memiliki jenis tanah lempung yang daya dukung tanahnya rendah, dibuktikan dengan pengujian Dynamic Cone Penetrometer lapangan nilai CBR nya 2,67%, dengan nilai tersebut tanah dapat dilakukan upaya perbaikan tanah yaitu salah satunya dengan stabilisasi kimiawi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui klasifikasi jenis tanah berdasarkan pada sistem klasifikasi Unified (USCS) dengan pengujian analisa besar butir, dan batas-batas Atterberg. Upaya stabilisasi tanah yang dilakukan dalam penelitian kali ini yaitu dengan penambahan abu kayu sengon pada pengujian UCT dengan variasi penambahan abu sebanyak 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, dan 12% dari berat kering tanah dengan variasi pemeraman selama 0, 7, 14, dan 28 hari. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh klasifikasi tanah yang ada di Desa Cibingbin berdasarkan sistem klasifikasi USCS, tanah termasuk kedalam kategori (CH) atau jenis tanah lempung tak organik berplastisitas tinggi. Nilai kuat tekan bebas optimum (qu) pada pengujian UCT diperoleh pada pengujian dengan pemeraman 7 hari persentase abu 12% sebesar 5,02 kg/cm2.
