Abstract

Roads are land transportation facilities that have an important role in developing the potential of an area, one of which is economic growth. This causes the existing transportation infrastructure to be able to withstand the traffic load that passes through it. . One of the obstacles that are often faced in the manufacture of roads, especially asphalt concrete is the difficulty of getting aggregates that meet the requirements so that other alternative materials are needed as a substitute for aggregates and fillers to meet these needs. The substitute material can be in the form of nickel slag. This study aims to determine how the effect of using nickel slag as a substitute for aggregate with nickel slag levels of 0%, 20%, and 60% on the characteristics of the intermediate layer (AC-BC) by testing the characteristics of the material and marshall. The results obtained from this study indicate that the use of nickel slag as a substitute for aggregate meets the LFA class A specifications. Through the Marshall test which refers to the general specifications of the 2018 Bina Marga, the ideal proportion of nickel slag addition to the asphalt concrete mixture is based on the highest stability value in each mixture proportion used. meet all mixed marshall characteristics according to the general specifications of Bina Marga 2018 Division 6 for the type of Intermediate Asphalt Concrete Layer (Laston) Mixture (AC-BC), namely at 60% slag content with 5.5% asphalt content with a stability value of 1087.84 kg. Where from the results of this study it can be concluded that the use of nickel slag as a substitute for aggregate can be used as a road pavement material because it meets the Specification Standard of Highways.

Additional Information: Jalan merupakan sarana transportasi darat yang memiliki peran penting dalam pengembangan potensi suatu wilayah salah satunya pertumbuhan perekonomian.. Hal ini menyebabkan prasarana transportasi yang ada harus mampu menahan beban lalu lintas yang melewatinya. . Salah satu kendala yang sering dihadapi dalam pembuatan jalan khususnya beton aspal adalah sulitnya mendapatkan agregat yang memenuhi persyaratan sehingga perlu bahan alternatif lain sebagai bahan pengganti agregat dan filler guna memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut. Bahan pengganti tersebut dapat berupa slag nikel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh penggunaan slag nikel sebagai bahan pengganti agregat dengan kadar slag nikel 0%, 20%, dan 60% terhadap karakteristik lapis antara (AC-BC) dengan pengujian karakteristik material dan marshall. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penggunaan slag nikel sebagai pengganti agregat memenuhi spesifikasi LFA kelas A. Melalui uji marshall yang mengacu pada spesifikasi umum bina marga 2018 didapat proporsi ideal penambahan slag nikel pada campuran aspal beton berdasarkan nilai stabilitas tertinggi pada setiap proporsi campuran yang memenuhi semua karakteristik marshall campuran sesuai spesifikasi umum bina marga 2018 Divisi 6 untuk jenis campuran Lapis Aspal Beton (Laston) Lapis Antara (AC-BC) yaitu pada kadar slag 60% dengan kadar aspal 5,5 % dengan nilai stabilitas 1087,84 kg. Dimana dari hasil penelitian ini dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa penggunaan slag nikel sebagai pengganti agregat dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan perkerasan jalan karena memenuhi Standar Spesifikasi Bina Marga.
