Abstract

Dalam kultur perairan seperti kolam dan tambak ikan bandeng, amonia merupakan bahan pencemar utama. Jika konsentrasi amonia mencapai >0,02 ppm, maka ikan tersebut akan mengalami kematian. Zeolit dapat digunakan untuk mengurangi amonia dalam sistem kultur perairan. Pada penelitian ini zeolit tidak dilakukan perlakuan pemanasan ataupun aktivasi asam atau basa melainkan dengan perbedaan ukuran zeolit 60, 80 dan 100 mesh pada temperatur 30℃ dengan massa zeolit 600 gram selama 30 menit. Analisis karakteristik zeolit yang digunakan adalah analisis SEM untuk menganalisa struktur permukaan zeolit. Zeolit alam Bayah digunakan sebagai adsorben untuk menghilangkan kandungan amonium(NH4 + ) pada air kolam ikan bandeng. Proses adsorbsi amonium dilakukan pada temperatur 30℃ dengan menggunakan zeolit tanpa modifikasi ukuran 100 mesh sebanyak 600 gram dalam 60 L air kolam ikan dan dilakukan selama 120 menit. Sampel air kolam dianalisa setiap 5 menit dan dianalisa konsentrasinya menggunakan titrasi asam basa. Hasil yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini ZAB yang tidak dimodifikasi memiliki bentuk yang tidak beraturan dan banyak pengotor oksida logam alkali sehingga diperoleh luas permukaan sebesar 46 m 2 /g. Persentase penjerap ukuran 60, 80 dan 100 mesh selama 30 menit, 100 mesh memiliki daya jerap yang besar yakni 14,791%. Waktu optimum ZAB 100 mesh amonium yang terjerap yaitu 60 menit dan berhasil menjerap sebanyak 66 % ion amonium. Model kinetika yang tepat yaitu pseudo second orde dengan nilai SSE sebesar 0,79. Additional Information: In aquatic cultures such as ponds and milkfish ponds, ammonia is the main pollutant. If the ammonia concentration reaches > 0.02 ppm, the fish will die. Zeolites can be used to reduce ammonia in aquatic culture systems. In this study, zeolite was not treated with heating or acid or base activation, but with different sizes of zeolite 60, 80 and 100 mesh at a temperature of 30℃ with a mass of 600 grams of zeolite for 30 minutes. The analysis of zeolite characteristics used is SEM analysis to analyze the surface structure of the zeolite. Bayah natural zeolite is used as an adsorbent to remove ammonium (NH4+) content in milkfish pond water. The ammonium adsorption process was carried out at a temperature of 30℃ using zeolite without modification of the size of 100 mesh as much as 600 grams in 60 L of fish pond water and carried out for 120 minutes. Pond water samples were analyzed every 5 minutes and the concentration was analyzed using acid-base titration. The results obtained in this study that unmodified ZAB had an irregular shape and a lot of alkali metal oxide impurities so that a surface area of 46 m2/g was obtained. Percentage of adsorbent size 60, 80 and 100 mesh for 30 minutes, 100 mesh has a large adsorption capacity of 14.791%. The optimum time for ZAB 100 mesh ammonium to be adsorbed was 60 minutes and succeeded in absorbing as much as 66% of ammonium ions. The right kinetic model is pseudo second order with an SSE value of 0.79. Keywords : Adsorption, amonium, not modified, ZAB.
