Abstract
Water needs is getting higher for drinking, washing and industrial purposes, especially in Cilegon. The biggest source to fulfill those needs is by utilizing treatment from Krenceng reservoir water. This research was conducted using the Coagulation-Flocculation method with Aeration pretreatment. The coagulant used is alum. Coagulants have performance in accordance with optimum pH conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an experiment regarding the optimization of the Coagulant Dose, pH and Aeration on the performance of the Alum Coagulant in the raw water of the Krenceng reservoir. The purpose of this research was to determine the optimization of pH, coagulant and flocculant doses in Kremeng reservoir water with the addition of aeration The procedure of this research was carried out by measuring pH, TDS, Fe content, and initial Mn levels of the raw water of the Krenceng reservoir, then aeration for 30 minutes and adding alum coagulants with variations of 15, 20, 25 ppm which were stirred at a speed of 100 rpm for 2 minutes and addition of flocculants with a variation of 1.2.3 ppm with a slow stirring of 40 rpm for 20 minutes. The sedimentation time is 20 minutes. Then analyze the pH, TDS, Fe and Mn contents of each sample. The results of this research can be concluded that the best optimum dosage for Krenceng reservoir raw water treatment is at pH 7 with 25 ppm alum coagulant, 2 ppm cation flocculant, and the final Fe content is 0.06 mg / l, final Mn content is less of 0.5 mg / l and a final pH of 5.6 which the initial conditions of raw water have a Fe content of 1.13 mg / l, an Mn content of 0.86 mg / l, a pH of 7.2 and a TDS of 45. Additional Information: | Kebutuhan air semakin hari semakin tinggi untuk keperluan minum, mencuci maupun keperluan di industri khususnya di Cilegon. Sumber terbesar untuk mencukupinya kebutuhan tersebut dengan memanfaatkan pengolahan dari air waduk krenceng. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode Koagulasi-Flokulasi dengan pretreatment Aerasi. Koagulan yang digunakan yaitu alumunium sulfat Al2(SO4)3 atau disebut Tawas. Koagulan memiliki kinerja sesuai dengan kondisi pH optimum. Maka, perlu dilakukan percobaan mengenai optimasi dari Dosis Koagulan, pH dan Aerasi terhadap kinerja Koagulan Tawas pada air baku waduk krenceng. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui optimasi pH, dosis koagulan dan flokulan terhadap kandungan pada air waduk krenceng dengan penambahan aerasi. Prosedur penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara mengukur pH, TDS, kadar Fe, dan kadar Mn awal air baku waduk krenceng, kemudian aerasi selama 30 menit dan ditambahkan koagulan alum dengan variasi 15, 20, 25 ppm yang diaduk dengan kecepatan 100 rpm selama 2 menit dan penambahan flokulan dengan variasi 1,2,3 ppm dengan pengadukan lambat 40 rpm selama 20 menit. Waktu pengendapan dilakukan selama 20 menit. Kemudian menganalisa pH, TDS, Kadar Fe dan Mn dari masing masing sampel. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa dosis optimum yang terbaik untuk pengolahan air baku waduk Krenceng adalah pada pH 7 dengan koagulan tawas 25 ppm, flokulan kation 2 ppm, dan didapatkan kadar Fe akhir sebesar 0,06 mg/l, kadar Mn akhir sebesar kurang dari 0,5 mg/l dan pH akhir sebesar 5,6 yang dimana kondisi awal air baku memiliki kadar Fe 1,13 mg/l, kadar Mn 0,86 mg/l, pH 7,2 dan TDS 45.
