Abstract

In building a road, land is the most important part to support all traffic loads or construction loads placed on it. Therefore, in planning a construction, an investigation must be carried out on the characteristics and strength of the soil, especially the properties of the soil that affect the supporting strength of the soil in withstanding the construction load on it. At the location of Jl. Raya Kadomas, Pandeglang District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, the condition on the road was damaged quite severely and was often passed by land transportation modes so that the comfort and safety of vehicle access users were disturbed. The purpose of this study is to determine soil characteristics based on the classification and physical properties of the original soil of the Unified Soil Classification System method and find out soil characteristics and the effect of adding variations in fly ash percentages of 0% and 20% as well as variations in the presentation of Bottom Ash 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% as an added material for soil stabilization to the value of unconfined compression test with variations in the deepening time of 0, 7, 14, and 28 days. The results of this study obtained soil classification including the OH type according to the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) classification system, namely organic clay soils with high plasticity of 21.08%. The qu value is found in mixed soils Bottom Ash 10% and Fly Ash 20% with a deepening time of 28 days which is 2,994 kg / cm2. Soils with the addition of 0% and 20% Fly Ash and Bottom Ash at variations of 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% showed a decrease in the value of the soil plasticity index from 21.083% to 7.511%.

Additional Information: Dalam membangun suatu jalan, tanah merupakan bagian yang terpenting untuk mendukung seluruh beban lalu lintas atau beban kontruksi yang ditempatkan di atasnya. Oleh karena itu, dalam perencanaan suatu konstruksi harus dilakukan penyelidikan terhadap karakteristik dan kekuatan tanah terutama sifat-sifat tanah yang mempengaruhi kekuatan dukung tanah dalam menahan beban konstruksi yang ada diatasnya. Pada lokasi Jl. Raya Kadomas, Kecamatan Pandeglang, Kabupaten Pandeglang, Banten kondisi di jalan tersebut mengalami kerusakan yang cukup parah dan sering dilalui oleh moda transportasi darat sehingga kenyamanan dan keamanan pengguna akses kendaraan menjadi terganggu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui karakteristik tanah berdasarkan klasifikasi dan sifat fisik tanah asli metode Unified Soil Classification System dan mengetahui karakteristik tanah dan pengaruh penambahan variasi presentase Fly Ash 0% dan 20% serta variasi presentasi Bottom Ash 0%, 10%, 20%, dan 30% sebagai bahan tambah stabilisasi tanah terhadap nilai kuat tekan bebas dengan variasi waktu pemeraman 0, 7, 14, dan 28 hari. Hasil Penelitian ini diperoleh klasifikasi tanah termasuk kedalam jenis OH menurut sistem klasifikasi Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) yaitu tanah lempung organik dengan plastisitas tinggi sebesar 21,08%. Nilai qu terdapat pada tanah campuran Bottom Ash 10% dan Fly Ash 20% dengan waktu pemeraman 28 hari yaitu 2,994 kg/cm2. Tanah dengan penambahan 0% dan 20% Fly Ash dan Bottom Ash pada variasi 0%, 10%, 20%, dan 30% menunjukkan adanya penurunan nilai indeks plastisitas tanah dari 21,083% menjadi 7,511%.
