Abstract

ENSO (El Nino Southern Oscillation) is a form of climate deviation in the Pacific Ocean which is characterized by an increase in sea surface temperature (SST) in the Central and Eastern equatorial regions which affects the increase and decrease in rainfall. Rainfall is influenced by the ENSO phenomenon, air pressure, wind speed, humidity, and temperature. This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of the ENSO phenomenon and other climatic factors on rainfall in Tangerang Regency, either separately or together using multiple linear regression analysis. The data used in the form of data SOI values, air pressure, wind speed, humidity, temperature and rainfall with a period of 10 years. The results of multiple linear regression show that the SOI values, air pressure, wind speed, and humidity have a positive effect while temperature has a negative effect on rainfall in Tangerang Regency. The percentage of R-sq (adj) shows the value that 57.43% of the variation of the rainfall sample in Tangerang Regency can be influenced by ENSO and other climatic factors.
