Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the basic abilities of Microsoft Word in visually impaired students of class VIII SMPLB in SKh 01 Serang City, using the learning by doing method. This research is an experimental study with a single subject research (SSR) approach with an A-B-A design. The subject in this study was one of the grade VIII students of SMPLB with visual impairments. The target behavior in this study is the basic ability of Microsoft Word. Data collection techniques are obtained by observation and deed tests. The data analysis used is descriptive statistics with the presentation of graphs. Based on the results obtained on the basic ability of microsoft word the average or mean level of the study subjects in the baseline-1 (A1) phase was 25% because this phase is a natural condition without the provision of intervention or treatment. In the intervention phase (B) the average percentage of mean levels obtained was 86.8% because in this phase the subjects had adapted the intervention or treatment. Meanwhile, in the baseline-2 (A2) phase, the average percentage of the mean level can be 70% because in this phase the subject's natural results after treatment or intervention. From the results obtained in this study, we can conclude that the use of the learning by doing method for blind children can improve basic microsoft word skills in blind students of class VIII SMPLB at SKh Negeri 01 Serang City, Banten. Additional Information: ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan dasar microsoft word pada siswa tunanetra kelas VIII SMPLB di SKh 01 Kota Serang, dengan menggunakan metode learning by doing. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan pendekatan single subject research (SSR) dengan desain A-B-A. Subjek dalam penelitian ini salah satu siswa kelas VIII SMPLB dengan hambatan penglihatan. Perilaku sasaran dalam penelitian ini adalah kemampuan dasar microsoft word. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan observasi dan tes perbuatan. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu statistik deskriptif dengan penyajian grafik. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh pada kemampuan dasar microsoft word rata-rata atau mean level subjek penelitian pada fase baseline-1 (A1) sebesar 25% dikarenakan fase ini merupakan kondisi alamiah tanpa adanya pemberian intervensi atau perlakuan. Pada fase intervensi (B) rata-rata presentase mean level yang di dapat sebesar 86,8% dikarenakan pada fase ini subjek telah mendapkan intervensi atau perlakuan. Sedangkan pada fase baseline-2 (A2) rata-rata presentase mean level yang di dapat sebesar 70% dikarenakan pada fase ini hasil alamiah subjek setelah diberikanya perlakuan atau intervensi. Dari hasil yang di peroleh pada penelitian ini, maka kita bisa simpulkan bahwa penggunaan metode learning by doing untuk anak tunanetra dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dasar microsoft word pada siswa tunanetra kelas VIII SMPLB di SKh Negeri 01 Kota Serang, Banten.
