Abstract

Pembimbing I: Dr. Rahmi Winangsih, M.Si dan Pembimbing II : Darwis Sagita, M.I.Kom. PT. Matahari Department Store Tbk gerai Mall of Serang merupakan salah satu bisnis ritel yang terkenadampak pandemi Covid-19. Dalam menghadapi berbagai perubahan yang ada, Matahari sebagai organisasi nirlaba memiliki kekhasan tersendiri dalam melaksanakan komunikasi dengan seluruh karyawannya. Selama pandemi pola komunikasi pada perusahaan terus berkembang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pelaksanaan komunikasi internal di PT. Matahari Department Store Tbk. Gerai Mall of Serang pada Masa Pandemi Covid-19 berdasarkan teori arus komunikasi internal yakni komunikasi vertikal ke bawah (downward communication), komunikasi vertikal ke atas (upward communication) serta komunikasi Horizontal (sideaways communication) serta mengetahui hambatan komunikasi yang dihadapi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumen yang selanjutnya peneliti analisis menggunakan metode Model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Arus komunikasi internal di PT. Matahari Department Store Tbk gerai Mall of Serang pada masa pandemi Covid-19 berjalan adaptif berdasarkan mata rantai berjenjang atau alur hierarki perusahaan secara teratur dalam organisasi. Hal ini menyebabkan komunikasi dialogis yang berlangsung antara karyawan dengan atasan menjadi kurang efektif. Pelaksanaan komunikasi internal di perusahaan telah sesuai dengan tiga teori komunikasi internal yang meliputi komunikasi vertikal ke bawah, komunikasi vertikal ke atas, dan komunikasi Horizontal. Adapun hambatan komunikasi yang dihadapi oleh karyawan pada masa pandemi adalah hambatan fisik, hambatan psikologis, dan hambatan fisiologi atau proses komunikasi akibat pandemi Covid-19. Matahari Department Store Tbk gerai Mall of Serang is one of the retail businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. In the face of various changes, Matahari as a non-profit organization has its own peculiarities in carrying out communication with all its employees. During the pandemic communication patterns in companies continue to evolve. This study aims to determine how the implementation of internal communication at PT. Matahari Department Store Tbk. Mall of Serang outlets during the Covid-19 pandemic based on the theory of internal communication flows, namely downward communication, upward communication and horizontal communication (sideaways communication) and knowing the communication barriers faced. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection using observation, interviews and document studies which then researchers analysis using interactive Model Method Miles and Huberman. The results showed the flow of internal communication at PT. Matahari Department Store Tbk Mall of Serang outlets during the Covid-19 pandemic run adaptively based on tiered chains or regular company hierarchy flows in the organization. This makes the dialogical communication between the employee and supervisor become less effective. The implementation of internal communication in the company has been in accordance with the three theories of internal communication which includes vertical down communication, vertical up communication, and Horizontal communication. The communication barriers faced by employees during the pandemic are physical barrier, psychological barriers and physiological barrier or communication process due to the covid-19 pandemic.
