Abstract

The laboratory scale automatic SMAW welding electrode-heating oven is a tool used to heat SMAW welding electrodes based on the type of electrode to maintain the level humidity of the electrode and is easy to use in the welding process and can minimize the occurrence of welding defects. The method used is Pahl and Beitz and tool testing. The purpose of this research is to design a heating oven with a maximum target temperature of 300 degrees Celsius, Electric heater design performance includes accuracy, precision, and linearity. User-friendly and safe oven design. From the design process, the best variant to obtain with the SMAW welding electrode heater made of Hebel as a heating furnace, rectangular in shape, the electrode inlet is above, and there is a device to make it easier for users to put and take the electrodes. The thermocouple sensor characterization test obtained good linearity indicated by the R-squared value of 0.9988. The sensitivity sensor obtained 43.1 V/oC. While the error percentage of the tool that has been designed is 0.026%, From the results of the precision test, the stability of the thermocouple sensor reader is good this is evidenced by the coefficient of variation of 1.913%. The accuracy of the designed tool work system has a good value of 100%, It shows that the tool can work well. This tool is Equipped with an automatic temperature control feature with an ON/OFF system, making it easier for users to vary the heating temperature and reduce the cost of using the tool. Additional Information: Oven pemanas elektroda las SMAW otomatis skala laboratorium adalah alat yang digunakan untuk memanaskan elektroda las SMAW bedasarkan jenis tipe elektroda sehingga tetap menjaga tingkat kelembaban elektroda dan mudah dipakai dalam proses pengelasan dan dapat meminimalisir terjadinya cacat pengelasan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Pahl and Beitz dan Pengujian alat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu rancangan oven pemanas dengan target suhu maksimal 300 oC, unjuk kerja rancangan electric pemanas mencakup akurasi, presisi dan linieritas dan rancangan oven yang user friendly dan aman. Dari proses perancangan didapat varian terbaik dengan pemanas elektroda Las SMAW berbahan hebel sebagai tungku pemanas, berbentuk persegi panjang, saluran masuk elektroda berada di atas dan terdapat alat pembantu untuk memudahkan pengguna dalam meletakkan dan mengambil elektroda. Uji karakterisasi sensor termokopel diperoleh linieritas yang sangat baik ditunjukkan dengan nilai R2 sebesar 0,9988. Adapun sensitifitas sensor diperoleh nilai 43,1 µV/oC. Sedangkan persentase kesalahan alat yang telah dirancang sebesar 0,026%. Dari hasil uji presisi didapatkan kestabilan pembaca sensor termokopel yang sangat baik hal ini dibuktikkan dengan koefisien variasi sebesar 1,913%. Akurasi sistem kerja alat yang dirancang mempunya nilai yang sangat baik sebesar 100%, hal itu menunjukkan bahwa alat dapat bekerja dengan baik. Alat ini dilengkapi fitur pengendali suhu otomatis dengan sistem ON/OFF sehingga memudahkan pengguna dalam memvariasikan suhu pemanasan dan mengurangi biaya penggunaan alat.
