Abstract

Demand for electricity is increasing rapidly causes a decrease in the capacity of power distribution, voltage fluctuations, power loss increase, especially on the transmission line. One type of Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS), a Static VAR Compensator (SVC) can increase the capacity of power distribution and reduce the power loss while maintaining the voltage profile. Common problem that often occur in the use of SVC equipment is the determination of optimal MVAR SVC to be allocated in a power transmission system. In this study, Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) is used to determine the optimal MVAR SVC, as well as improve the voltage profile and reduce the power loss in transmission systems 500 kV Jawa-Bali. Acquisition of the initial power flow of data Java-Bali interconnection system 500 kV is simulated using Newton-Raphson method and optimization using ACO method is performed by placing MVAR SVC at critical bus (first trial) and all the bus loads (second trial). Voltage profile after silmulated using Newton-Raphson method indicates thar the bus voltage is outside the normal voltage range, such as bus 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 18, dan 19, while the total loss power loss of 151,509 + j1404,123 MVA. The first experiment with putting critical bus MVAR SVC at the buses 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 18, dan 19 are able to improve bus voltage profile that is in the range of normal stress and lower total losses power equal to 16,634 + j180,895 MVA. The second experiment by placing MVAR SVC at load buses are also able to improve bus voltage profile that is in the range of normal stress and decreased total power loss of 21,328 + j234,445 MVA. Abstrak - Permintaan akan tenaga listrik yang semakin bertambah menyebabkan penurunan kapasitas penyaluran daya, fluktuasi tegangan, rugi-rugi daya meningkat khususnya pada saluran transmisi. Salah satu jenis Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS), yaitu Static VAR Compensator (SVC) dapat meningkatkan kapasitas penyaluran daya dan mengurangi rugi-rugi daya dengan tetap mempertahankan profil tegangan. Permasalahan umum yang sering terjadi pada penggunaan peralatan SVC adalah penentuan MVAR optimal SVC untuk dialokasikan dalam sistem transmisi tenaga listrik. Dalam penelitian ini, Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) digunakan untuk menentukan MVAR optimal SVC, serta memperbaiki profil tegangan dan menurunkan rugi-rugi daya pada sistem transmisi Jawa-Bali 500 kV. Perolehan aliran daya awal dari data-data sistem interkoneksi Jawa-Bali 500 kV disimulasikan menggunakan metode Newton-Raphson dan optimasi menggunakan metode ACO dilakukan dengan menempatkan MVAR SVC pada bus kritis (percobaan pertama) dan semua bus beban (percobaan kedua). Profil tegangan setelah disimulasikan menggunakan metode Newton-Raphson menunjukkan adanya tegangan bus yang berada diluar batasan tegangan normal, antara lain bus 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 18, dan 19, sedangkan total rugi-rugi dayanya sebesar 151,509 + j1404,123 MVA. Percobaan pertama dengan menempatkan MVAR SVC pada bus kritis yakni bus 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 18, dan 19 mampu memperbaiki profil tegangan bus sehingga berada dalam batasan tegangan normal serta menurunkan total rugi-rugi daya sebesar 16,634 + j180,895 MVA. Percobaan kedua dengan menempatkan MVAR SVC pada semua bus beban juga mampu memperbaiki profil tegangan bus sehingga berada dalam batasan tegangan normal serta menurunkan total rugi-rugi daya sebesar 21,328 + j234,445 MVA.
