Abstract

Budi daya rumput laut merupakan salah satu sektor andalan masyarakat nelayan dan pesisir laut Teluk Banten, terkhusus Desa Lontar, Kabupaten Serang. Salah satu hasil olahan yang berpotensi menjadi sektor andalan adalah tepung rumput laut, namun tepung yang dihasilkan tidak seragam dan ada yang masih terlalu besar. Tugas akhir ini membuat cyclone separator pada mesin penepung rumput laut untuk memisahkan tepung yang sudah halus dan yang masih kasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode perancangan Pahl dan Beitz dengan QFD sebagai penunjang metode perancangan alat. Hasil penelitian adalah cyclone separator bersumber daya listrik. Diameter silinder 0,18 m dengan konfigurasi 2D2D dan standar dimensi Lapple. Saluran pipa berdiameter 2 inci dengan panjang ekuivalen 1,97 m. Blower sentrifugal dengan daya hembus untuk mentransportasikan tepung ke dalam cyclone separator dengan daya motor 370 Watt. Dari uji coba prototype, diperoleh hasil tepung yang berhasil dipisahkan dengan tingkat efektivitas 88,11% berukuran kurang atau sama dengan mesh 100.

Additional Information: Seaweed cultivation is one of the mainstay sectors of the fishermen and the coastal areas of the Banten Bay, especially Lontar Village, Serang Regency. One of the processed products that has the potential to become a mainstay sector is seaweed flour, but the flour produced is not uniform and some are still too large. This final project is to make a cyclone separator of ATC seaweed grinder to separate the fine and coarse flour. The research method used was the Pahl and Beitz design method with QFD as a support for the tool design method. The research result is a cyclone separator with power supply. Cylinder diameter of 0.18 m with 2D2D configuration and standard Lapple dimensions. The pipeline is 2 inches in diameter with an equivalent length of 1.97 m. Centrifugal blower with blowing power to transport flour into the cyclone separator with a 370 Watt motor power. From the prototype trial, it was found that the flour was successfully separated with an effectiveness level of 88.11% with a size less than or equal to 100 mesh.
