Abstract

Additional Information: | Clean water is a basic need that is very important for human life. Does not rule out the possibility that the existing clean water sources are contaminated with harmful metals, bacteria and other materials. Solar distillation is one way of purifying water that has not been widely used because of its low productivity. There are several ways to increase the productivity of solar distillation device, one of which is by using magnifying lens. In this study, the method used was an experimental method, namely by comparing the solar distillation device without magnifying lens with solar distillation device with the variations in the use of 2, 4, and 6 magnifying lens. So it can be seen the effect of using magnifying lens on productivity and efficiency at double slope solar distillation. The magnifying lens used has a diameter of 50 mm and focal point length of 500 mm. Based on the results of research on solar distillation devices using 2, 4, and 6 magnifying lens, productivity increased respectively by 10,8%, 22,82%, and 26,82%. While efficiency of solar distillation devices on using 2, 4, and 6 magnifying lens increased respectively by 6,49%, 14,04%, and 16,34%. It is also known that, using of 6 magnifying lens is more optimal than using of 2 and 4 magnifying lens. | |||||||||
