Abstract
Fracture is a term that refers to a discontinuity of bone either totally or partially determined by its type and extent. The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2019 stated that the incidence of fractures was increasing, there were recorded fractures of approximately 15 million people with a prevalence rate of 3.2%. Based on data from RISKESDAS Banten Province in 2018, Femur fracture cases are cases that often occur, where these cases are caused by traffic accidents such as car or motorcycle accidents (65.6%) and falls (37.3%) among the most common cases. mostly experienced by men (73.8%). The method chosen for fracture reduction depends on the nature of the fracture. The type of reduction that can be performed on fracture patients is Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF). Post ORIF fracture patients will experience several nursing problems, one of which is impaired physical mobility. Impaired physical mobility must be treated immediately, therefore nurses have an important role in meeting the needs of physical mobility. One of the actions that can be taken is ambulation using crutches. This action is carried out starting from day 3 after surgery. These crutches can accelerate healing and fulfill the patient's physical mobility needs. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which the success rate of crutches in overcoming physical mobility disorders. The writing of this research uses descriptive research methods in the form of case studies with a nursing care approach that includes assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation and evaluation. In this case study, there is a comparison of 2 patients with post ORIF femur fractures. The results in this study showed an increase in physical mobility in both patients after ambulation using crutches
