Abstract

Rubber seed meal is one of the alternative raw materials to replace soybean mealin aquafeed. The purpose of this research was to determine the best proportion ofrubber seed meal to replace soybean meal in the feed to increase the growth performance of milkfish. The treatments were the substitution of rubber seed meal to soybean meal at a respective level of 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100%, each treatment had four replications. The test diet contained Cr2O3 as a digestibilityindicator. After acclimated, milkfish fingerlings (6.6 ±0.96 g) were randomlydistributed into 15 aquaria of 60x40x40 cm in dimension size containing 63 Lwater at 15 fingerlings per aquarium and fed a test diet at satiation for 45 days ofthe experimental period. The results show that the optimum dose of rubber seedmeal is a dose of 50% which had a significant (P<0.05) on protein digestibility, lipid digestibility, energy digestibility, and final weight. There are no significant(P > 0.05) on the feed intake, feed efficiency, and survival rate. The value ofwater salinity during reared is 3-5 ppt and the dissolved oxygen level is 3.0 – 4.5mg/L 3
