Abstract

Zeolite merupakan salah satu jenis bahan galian non logam atau bahan galian mineral industri. Zeolite mempunyai beberapa sifat yaitu sifat dehidrasi, sifat absorben, sifat penukar ion, sifat sieving dan sifat katalisator. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat filter emisi gas buang berbahan dasar batu zeolite. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik perancangan dengan metode Quality Function Deployment (QFD) dimana perancangan produk yang dihasilkan berdasarkan permintaan dan kebutuhan konsumen. Perancangan filter emisi gas buang dilakukan dengan membentuk filter gas buang berbentuk spiral, sehingga memperbesar kontak permukaan agar penyerapan emisi gas buang lebih tinggi. Filter emisi gas buang di produksi dengan volume 450.000 mm, panjang 300 mm, tinggi 5 mm dan lebar 300 mm, sedangkan luas penampang 186.000 mm. Pengujian performance dari filter dilakukan dengan cara menggunakan variasi mesh pada zeolite, kemudian dilakukan uji SEM pada emisi yang di keluarkan dari tiap variasi.

Additional Information: Zeolite is one type of non-metal or industrial mineral mineral. Zeolite has several properties, namely dehydration properties, absorbent properties, ion exchange properties, sieving properties and catalytic properties. The purpose of this research is to make a zeolite-based exhaust emission filter. The method used in this study uses a design technique with the method of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) where the design of the resulting product is based on consumer demand and needs. The design of the exhaust emission filter is carried out by forming a spiral exhaust gas filter, thereby enlarging the surface contact so that the absorption of exhaust gas is higher. The exhaust emission filter is produced with a volume of 450,000 mm, a length of 300 mm, a height of 5 mm and a width of 300 mm, while a cross-sectional area of 186,000 mm. The performance test of the filter is carried out by using a mesh variation of the zeolite, then a SEM test is carried out on the emission released in each variation.
