Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan kondisi sosial budaya di Desa Pekayon Kecamatan Mauk Kabupaten Tangerang tahun 1980-2010 , untuk menjelaskan Perkembangan Kesenian Lenong Tunah Pekayon di Kecamatan Mauk Kabupaten Tangerang tahun 1980-2010 , dan untuk menjelaskan upaya pelestarian Kesenian Lenong Tunah Pekayon di Kecamatan Mauk Kabupaten Tangerang tahun 1980-2010 . Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian Kesenian Lenong Pekayon ialah metode historis yang meliputi ; Heuristik ( pengumpulan sumber ) , Kritik Sumber , Interpretasi , dan Historiografi . Hasil penelitian Kesenian Lenong Pekayon bahwa gambaran umum geografis Desa Pekayon ialah kawasan pertanian , lahan sawah lebih luas daripada lahan penduduk . Sejarah berdirinya Lenong Pekayon diceritakan bahwa pendirinya yaitu H. Jampang dan Hj . Tunah gemar dalam bermain teater , sedari kecil mereka sering bermain drama sandiwara , setelah beranjak dewasa akhimya mereka mendirikan Lenong Pekayon . Seiring dengan perkembangannya , Lenong Pekayon semakin dikenal diberbagai daerah . dan menjadi Kesenian Lenong tertua di Kabupaten Tangerang . Dalam upaya menanggapi tantangan jaman yang semakin modern , Kesenian Lenong Pekayon membuat channel youtube dan tampil di layar televisi . Hal tersebut menjadi salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk menyeimbangkan perkembangan jaman modern . Upaya pelestarian yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah ialah adanya acara rutin tahunan seperti festival budaya , untuk memperkenalkan budaya tradisional yang terdapat di Kabupaten Tangerang . Karena pada dasarnya , kebudayaan lokal harus tetap dijaga keberadaannya , supaya generasi - generasi selanjutnya dapat mengetahui kebudayaan lokal yang terdapat di daerahnya masing - masing .

The results of the research of Lenong Pekayon Art showed that the general geographical description of Pekayon Village is an agricultural area , the rice fields are wider than the land of the population . The history of the establishment of Lenong Pekayon told that the founders were H. Jampang and Hj . Tunah was fond of playing theater , from childhood they often played drama plays , after growing up they finally founded Lenong Pekayon . Along with its development , Lenong Pekayon is increasingly known in various regions , and has become the oldest Lenong Art in Tangerang Regency . In an effort to respond to the challenges of an increasingly modern era , Lenong Pekayon Art creates a YouTube channel and appears on television screens . This is one of the efforts made to balance the development of the modern era . Conservation efforts made . by the government include the existence of annual routine events such as cultural festivals , to introduce traditional culture found in Tangerang Regency .
