Abstract

Jurnalis merupakan sebuah profesi yang diakui dan terikat oleh Kode Etik Jurnalistik. Meski akrab dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, namun jurnalis sebagai profesi masih sangat jarang dibahas. Salah satu cara mengetahui bagaimana karakteristik profesi jurnalis dan bagaimanakah kode etiknya adalah melalui drama serial Korea Selatan yang akhir-akhir ini sangat digemari. Drama Serial Falsify menceritakan bagaimana para jurnalis dari berbagai latar belakang melakukan liputan investigasi untuk suatu kasus. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui representasi karakter jurnalid dalam drama serial Falsify. Berdasarkan identifikasi masalah, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah makna Denotasi, Konotasi dan Mitos mengenai karakter Jurnalis dalam drama serial Falsify. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan paradigma konstruktivis. Penelitian ini menggunakan model semiotika Roland Barthes. Unit analisis yang dipilih merupakan adegan-adegan yang merepresentasikan sosok jurnalis. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa drama serial Falsify merepresentasikan karakter jurnalis dalam bentuk dialog, sikap dan perilakunya. Karakter jurnalis berita televisi yang ditemukan antara lain idealis, independen, berorientasi pada kebenaran dan melawan pemilik media

Additional Information: Journalism is a profession that is recognized and bound by the Journalistic Code of Ethics. Although familiar with everyday life, journalists as a profession are still very rarely discussed. One way to find out what the characteristics of the journalist profession are and what the code of ethics is is through the South Korean drama series which has recently been very popular. Drama Series Falsify tells how journalists from various backgrounds carry out investigative coverage for a case. The purpose of this study was to determine the representation of journalists' characters in the drama series Falsify. Based on problem identification, this study aims to determine the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth about the character of journalists in the drama series Falsify. The method used is qualitative with a constructivist paradigm. This research uses Roland Barthes' semiotic model. The unit of analysis chosen is a scene that represents the figure of a journalist. This study concludes that the drama series Falsify represents the character of journalists in the form of dialogue, attitudes and behavior. The characters of television news journalists found were idealistic, independent, truth-oriented and opposed to media owners. Keywords: Representation, Character, Journalist, Film, Semiotics.
