Abstract

Abu terbang merupakan padatan dari sisa pembakaran batu bara yang terbawa bursama gas buang. Berdasarkan Peraturan Pemerintah No.18 tahun 1999 tentang Pengelolaan Limbah Bahan Berbahaya dan Beracun (B3), abu batu bara diklasifikasikan sebagai limbah bahan berbahaya dan beracun (B3) karena memiliki kandungna logam berat, sehingga penggunaannya harus sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku. Pada penelitian ini, sintesis zeolit Na-P dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan abu terbang batubara melalui perlakuan awal menggunakan asam diikuti dengan proses hidrotermal. Pengaruh temperatur hidrotermal dipelajari dengan variasi temperatur 100, 130, 160 dan 190 0C menggunakan autoklaf. Karakterisasi produk hidrotermal dilakukan dengan menggunakan X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) dan SEM-EDS (Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy). Berdasarkan analisis XRD, pola difraksi material hasil proses hidrotermal menunjukkan pola zeolit Na-P. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, didapatkan bahwa suhu sintesis terbaik untuk menghasilkan zeolite Na�P adalah 160 0C. Rasio Si/Al dari zeolit Na-P yang diperoleh adalah 2,5. Hasil pengamatan melalui analisis SEM menunjukkan bahwa ukuran agregat dari partikel zeolit Na-P adalah 6-10 µm.

Additional Information: Fly ash is a solid from the residue of coal combustion carried by the exhaust gas. Based on Government Regulation No.18 of 1999 concerning Management of Hazardous and Toxic Waste (B3), coal ash is classified as hazardous and toxic waste (B3) because it contains heavy metals, so its use must be in accordance with applicable regulations. In this study, zeolite Na-P was synthesized by utilizing coal fly ash through pretreatment using acid followed by a hydrothermal process. The effect of hydrothermal temperature was studied with temperature variations of 100, 130, 160 and 190 0C using autoclave. The characterization of hydrothermal products was carried out using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and SEM-EDS (Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy). Based on XRD analysis, the diffraction pattern of the material resulting from the hydrothermal process shows a zeolite Na-P pattern. From the results of research that has been done, it was found that the best synthesis temperature to produce zeolite Na-P is 160 0C. The Si / Al ratio of zeolite Na-P obtained was 2,5. The results of observations through SEM analysis, the aggregate size of the zeolite Na-P particles was 6-10 µm. Key words: fly ash, hydrothermal, zeolite Na-P.
