Abstract

Laboratorium kimia organik Jurusan Teknik Kimia, Fakultas Teknik UNTIRTA menghasilkan limbah dengan kadar COD dan TDS yang tinggi yaitu sebesar 22161,6 ppm dan 298,003 ppm. Hal ini perlu ditangani , karena saat ini pengolahan limbah cair Laboratorium Organik ini hanya sekedar ditampung lalu diberikan kepada pihak ketiga dan akan memerlukan dana yang cukup besar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu menurunkan kadar COD, BOD, pH dan TDS limbah cair Laboratorium Kimia Organik agar sesuai dengan baku mutu limbah cair menurut Permen-LH-No.5-2014 dan mendapatkan jenis serta dosis koagulan optimum. Pengolahan limbah cair laboratorium dapat dilakukan secara fisika dan kimia salah satunya dengan metode koagulasi dan flokulasi juga untuk menaikan nilai oksigen terlarutnya dilakukan aerasi. Pengolahan limbah secara kimia yang digunakan yaitu koagulasi dan flokulasi dengan penambahan koagulan PAC, AS, dan ACH dengan variasi koagulan 250 mg/L, 275 mg/L, 300 mg/L, 325 mg/L, 350 mg/L, dan 375 mg/L menggunakan pengadukan cepat 100 rpm dan pengadukan lambat 40 rpm, sebelum dilakukan koagulasi dan flokulasi dilakukan aerasi terlebih dahulu. Didapatkan hasil koagulan terbaik yaitu koagulan PAC dengan dosis 375 ppm dengan peneurunan TDS 73,7 %, penurunan COD 78,77%, penurunan kadar BOD5 yaitu 82,33 dan pH sebesar 6,16. Dosis optimum menggunakan koagulan ACH yaitu dengan koagulan sebanyak 350 ppm, dosis optimum AS yaitu pada 325 ppm, dan pada PAC didapatkan dosis maksimum yaitu 375 ppm. Secara keseluruhan masih ada salah satu parameter yaitu COD yang belum memenuhi baku mutu, namun untuk parameter BOD, TDS, dan PH sudah memenuhi baku mutu limbah. Biaya pengolahan limbah terendah yaitu pengolahan limbah menggunakan koagulan Aluminium Sulfat 250 ppm dengan harga Rp 84,55/ 500 ml, dan harga pengolahan tertinggi menggunakan koagulan ACH 375 ppm dengan harga Rp 89,125/ 500 ml.

This is necessary to be handled in consideration of liquid waste treatment of Organic Chemistry Laboratory this time simply accommodated afterward given to the third parties which requires substantial funds. The purpose of this study are to decrease the value COD, BOD, pH and TDS of organic chemistry laboratory liquid waste in order to appropriate with liquid waste quality standard by Permen-LH-No.5-2014 and to obtain the optimum type and dosage of the coagulans. The laboratory liquid waste treatment can be done with physically or chemically, among others there are coagulation and flocculation method also to increase the dissolved oxygen value then aeration necessary needed. Chemically waste treatment used i.e. coagulation and floculation with additions of PAC, AS, and ACH coagulant and variant amount of coagulant occur at 250 mg/L, 275 mg/L, 300 mg/L, 325 mg/L, 350 mg/L, and 375 mg/L engage with fast stirring at 100 rpm and slow stirring at 40 rpm, in advance of coagulation and floculation, aeration necessary needed previosly. The best result obtained by PAC coagulant with dosage at 375 ppm and degression of TDS, COD, BOD5 and pH respectively 73,7 %, 78,77%, 82,33 and 6,16. The optimum dosage while used ACH, AS and PAC coagulant respectively at 350 ppm, 325 ppm, and 375 ppm. Overall there is still available one parameter i.e. COD does not comply with quality standard of waste, however for parameter i.e. BOD, TDS, and PH are already comply the quality standard of waste. The lowest charge for waste treatment is used AS coagulant at 250 ppm under the price IDR 84,55/ 500 ml, and the highest charge is use ACH coagulant at 375 ppm under the price IDR 89,125/ 500 ml.
