Abstract

Biodiesel dari limbah minyak ikan merupakan bahan yang potensial untuk menggantikan solar. Selain murah, juga bisa mengurangi limbah lingkungan. Biodiesel dicampur dengan solar dengan istilah B10, B20 dan B30 untuk masing�masing campuran solar dengan 10% 20% dan 30% biodiesel minyak ikan yang dihasilkan dengan menggunakan katalis zeolit (BioZ) dan basa (BioB), yang selanjutnya di uji fisiknya menggunakan uji laboratorium. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan performa mesin diesel dengan menggunakan bahan bakar solar dan campuran biodiesel Minyak Ikan. Sebuah eksperimen perbandingan performa mesin dilakukan dengan menggunakan mesin diesel dan alternator. Penyambungan antara mesin diesel Dongfeng R175A dan alternator Dongfeng ST-5 berfungsi untuk menentukan nilai pembebanan pada saat pengujian dan untuk mendapatkan besarnya tegangan dan arus. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata daya yang dihasilkan BioZ 3,63% lebih rendah dari SOLM, dan rata-rata daya yang dihasilkan BioB 4,76% lebih rendah dari SOLM. Namun BioZ memiliki rata-rata yang lebih baik dibanding BioSOL sebesar 0,15 %. Hal ini disebabkan karena bahan bakar biodiesel memiliki karakteristik yang lebih rendah daripada bahan bakar solar sehingga energi yang dihasilkan lebih rendah saat pembakaran di ruang bakar. Namun bahan bakar biodiesel rata-rata lebih hemat 0,89% untuk BioZ dan 2,26% untuk BioB yang masing masing dibandingkan dengan SOLM, biodiesel minyak ikan juga memiliki nilai penurunan yang signifikan terhadap BioS yaitu 2,84% BioZ dan 4,35% BioB, dengan B20B menjadi bahan bakar biodiesel terhemat

Additional Information: Biodiesel produced from fish oil waste is a potential candidate to replace common diesel fuel. apart from its low price, it can also reduce environmental waste. Biodiesel called B10, B20, and B30, when being combined with diesel fuel, respectively 10%, 20% and 30%. Biodesel produced with catalyst of zeolite (BioZ) and alkaline (BioB), then being tested physically in a laboratory. This research goal was to measure the diesel engine performance when using combination of diesel fuel and fish oil waste biodiesel. This experiment uses the Dongfeng ST-5 alternator and Dongfeng R175A diesel engine to know and compare the engine performance difference from biodiesel and diesel fuel. The connection of the engine and alternator purposed to decide the load value and to get the value of voltage and current. Test result shows that the average power generated by fish oil waste biodesel zeolit catalyst(BioZ) were 3,63% lower from diese fuel, and the average power generated by fish oil waste biodesel alkaline catalyst(BioB) were 4,76%. However, BioZ has a better average than BioSOL of 0.15%. This happens due to biodiesel fuel having lower characteristic than diesel fuel, so the energy produced was lower when combustion process happened. however, fish oil biodiesel more efficient 0.89% for BioZ and 2.26% for BioB respectively compared to SOLM, fish oil biodiesel also has a significant reduction value for BioS, namely 2.84% BioZ and 4.35% BioB.
