Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang memperoleh metode pembelajaran worked-example dengan siswa yang memperoleh metode pembelajaran ekspositori berdasarkan kemampuan awal siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian treatment by level 2×2. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MAN 2 Kota Serang tahun ajaran 2019/2020 semester genap. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X IPA 1 dan X IPA 2 yang terdiri dari 57 orang siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis variansi dua jalan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Terdapat perbedan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang memperoleh metode pembelajaran worked-example dengan siswa yang memperoleh metode pembelajaran ekspositori. (2) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang memiliki kemampuan awal tinggi dengan siswa yang memiliki kemampuan awal rendah. (3) Pada kemampuan awal tinggi, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh metode ekspositori relatif sama dengan siswa yang memperoleh metode worked-example. (4) Pada kemampuan awal rendah, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh metode worked-example lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh metode ekspositori. (5) Terdapat interaksi antara metode workedexample dan kemampuan awal terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis.

Additional Information: The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there were differences in mathematical problem-solving ability between students who obtained workedexample learning method and students who obtained expository learning method based on students’ initial ability. This study was a quasi-experimental research design with treatment by level 2×2. Population in this study are students of class X at MAN 2 Kota Serang in the academic year 2019/2020 of even semester. Sampling in this study used purposive sampling technique. Subjects in this study are students of class X Science 1 and X Science 2 which consisted of 57 students. Technique of data analysis used is two-way analysis of variance. The result of this study show that (1) There were differences in mathematical problem-solving ability between students who obtained worked-example learning method and students who obtained expository learning method. (2) There were differences in mathematical problemsolving ability between students who have high initial ability and students who have low initial ability. (3) In high initial ability, problem-solving ability of students who obtained expository method were relatively same as those who obtained workedexample method. (4) In low initial ability, problem-solving ability of students who obtained worked-example method were better than those who obtained expository method. (5) There was an interaction between worked-example method and initial ability in mathematical problem-solving ability.
