Abstract
Partisipasi perempuan dalam politik masih dipersepsikan pada representasi dalam struktur politik di tingkat nasional maupun daerah, yang dirasakan belum memadai. Padahal eksistensi kuantitatif perempuan bahkan sebanding dengan setengah dari populasi penduduk baik di tingkat nasional maupun daerah. Salah satu faktor penghambat adalah kondisi geografis, terutama kedekatan dengan pusat pemerintahan, yang menyebabkan terutama perempuan di wilayah pesisir mempunyai keterbatasan akses politik. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui kedudukan, peran dan fungsi perempuan dalam politik serta model pemberdayaan untuk meningkatkan partisipasi politiknya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kedudukan, peran dan fungsi perempuan pesisir yang menunjukkan semakin terbukanya ruang partisipasi namun perempuan masih belum terlibat secara aktif, yang mana hal ini dipengaruhi olehh faktor internal dan eksternal, antara lain rendahnya tingkat pendidikan. Model yang dirancang untuk peningkatan partisipasi politik adalah dengan menggunakan grass root approach yang melibatkan semua strata di masyarakat terutama perempuan dan kelompok miskin. *Kata Kunci: Partisipasi, Perempuan, Politik

| Additional Information: | Women's participation in politics was perceived on the representation in political structures at the national and local levels, that is felt inadequate. Though the existence of quantitative woman even comparable to half of the population in both national and local levels. One of inhibiting factors is geography, particularly the proximity to the center of government, which causes women in coastal areas have limited access to politics. Purpose of this research was to determine the status, role and function of women in politics and empowerment model to enhance their political participation. The research method used was qualitative. The results showed the position, role and function of coastal women showed increasingly open, but women's participation still do not actively involved, in which it is influenced by internal and external factors, such as low levels of education. The model is designed to increase political participation is by using grass root approach which involves all level of society particularly women and the poor. *Keywords: Participation, Politics, Women |
