Abstract

Corellation Between Culture and Parenting Styles for Student Behavior at SMAN 1 Padarincang Kabupaten Serang, Thesis, Instructional Technology Program, Post Graduate, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. 2015. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between culture with student behavior, the relationship between parenting parents with student behavior, as well as the relationship between culture and parenting parents on the behavior of students of SMAN 1 Padarincang. This study uses a quantitative approach correlations using correlational methods supported by the questionnaire survey, documentation, and observation as data collection. Then analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. There are 83 respondents who are students of SMAN 1 Padarincang, for behavioral variables divided into good behavior category 48.2%, 51.8% is not good category, 53% of the category of cultural variables, 47% less supportive culture of education, 79.5% category ideal for parenting parents, and 20.5% less than ideal. Based on the research results, there is a positive and significant relationship of culture on student behavior (correlation coefficient = 0.525), parenting parents on student behavior (correlation coefficient = 0.533), as well as culture and parenting parents on student behavior (correlation coefficient = 0.539 ). This indicates that the student's behavior is influenced by two things, culture and parenting parents. Culture as external factors and parenting parents as internal factors. The more positive the support of culture, will be a positive influence also the behavior of students. Considered ideal parenting is parenting democratic, if parenting is used increasingly looking more it will also have a positive impact on children's behavior.
