Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF WEBLOG TOWARD STUDENTS’ WRITING ABILITY IN WRITING RECOUNT TEXT AT TENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMAN 6 KABUPATEN TANGERANG By Bening Bryliana 2223102682 ABSTRACT The objective of the research is to find out the influence of weblog towards students’ writing ability in writing recount text at the tenth grade students of SMAN 6 Kabupaten Tangerang. This research used quantitative approach through quasiexperimental non-equivalent as a research design. The samples that used in this research were the students of X IIS 3 as the control group and X IIS 4 as the experimental group. Each class consisted of 30 students, so the sample total was 60 students. The result showed that the average score in each elements of recount in control class are 9.83 for orientation and became 18.20, the events is 14 and became 16.33, the reorientation is 2.33 and became 14, and the language feature is 8.50 and became 14.50. The average of total score in pre-test is 34.67 and became 63 in the post-test. Meanwhile, the average score of experimental class are 8.83 for orientation and became 16.83, the events is 12 and became 20.50, the reorientation is 0.67 and became 17, and the language feature is 5.67 and became 15.33. The average of total score in pre-test is 27.17 and became 69.67 in the post-test. The hypothesis test used independent t-test. The result of this research showed that t-test is higher than t-table (10,37 > 2,045) in control group and the t-test in experimental group also was higher than t-table (30,57 > 2,045). It means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. So, the researcher concluded that there was a significant influence of weblog toward students’ writing ability in writing recount text at tenth grade students of SMAN 6 Kabupaten Tangerang.
