Abstract

igh quuality pavement is necessary, because in addition for comfort the driver also needed to be guaranteed their safety. Another way to raise the quality of asphalt mixture is by using the Styrofoam as the add mixture. The use of Styrofoam as add mixture is expected to improve the quality of the desired way of pavement. This research is to know the influence of the use of Styrofoam as add mixture into the asphalt 60/70 penetration against the stability and flexibility on a mixture of asphalt and knowing the performance of Asphalt Concrete mixture -Wearing Course (ACWC) plus with the waste Styrofoam. This research uses the Marshall method, used as some variation of the level of polystirene foam and the level of asphalt. A variation used as the level of Styrofoam is 7%, 9%, 11% and the level of asphalt 5%, 5.5%, 6%, 6.5%, 7%. The Data used on this research in the form of objects laston test as much as 60 test objects. The results of this research showed that with the addition of Styrofoam foam on the asphalt mixture can alter the physical characteristics of asphalt. The addition of Styrofoam causing a downturn in the value of the weight of the type of asphalt and asphalt weight loss. The addition of Styrofoam on a mixture of asphalt increase the value of stability on a mixture of 3500 kg on the level of asphalt 7 percent and the level of Styrofoam 11%.
