Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan clustering teknik terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks deskriptif dan untuk mengetahui tanggapan siswa saat belajar menulis teks deskriptif dengan menggunakan clustering teknik di kelas II SMP Negeri 3 Cikupa, Tangerang. Penelitian ini adalah menggunakan metode campuran dengan eksperimen sejati. Populasi penelitian adalah sebesar kelas dua SMP Negeri 3 Cikupa, Tangerang tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Itu dua kelas populasi diambil sebagai sampel melalui clustering random pengambilan sampel yaitu VIII4 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan VIII5 sebagai kelompok kontrol. Itu kelompok eksperimen diajar dengan teknik clustering dan kelompok kontrol diajarkan dengan menggunakan teknik konvensional. Sebagai instrumen tes, pre-test dan post-test diberikan kepada kedua kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan antara hasil pre-test dan post-test. Itu bisa dilihat dari meannya skor pre-test kelompok eksperimen adalah 48,14 dan kelompok kontrol adalah 46 memberikan perlakuan, peningkatan terlihat pada kelompok eksperimen yang memiliki nilai rata-rata post-test adalah 66,89. Sementara itu, nilai rata-rata post-test dalam kelompok kontrol adalah 59,57. Di sisi lain, T-test digunakan untuk mengetahui pengaruh menggunakan teknik Clustering terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks deskriptif. Dari hasil perhitungan t-test pada post-test, diperoleh bahwa t-test lebih tinggi dari t tabel (2,274 > 1,996). Artinya Ha (hipotesis alternatif) diterima dan ada merupakan pengaruh penggunaan teknik clustering terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa dalam teks deskriptif siswa kelas 2 SMP Negeri 3 Cikupa Tangerang. Selain itu, Hasil angket menunjukkan bahwa semua siswa (100%) memberikan tanggapan positif menuju teknik clustering.

Additional Information: The objectives of this research were to find out the influence of using clustering technique toward students‟ ability in writing descriptive text and to know the students‟ responses while studying writing descriptive text by using clustering technique at second grade of SMP Negeri 3 Cikupa, Tangerang. This research was using mixed methods by true experimental. The population of the research was at second grade of SMP Negeri 3 Cikupa, Tangerang in academic year 2014/2015. The two classes of the population were taken as the sample through clustering random sampling, namely VIII4 as experimental group and VIII5 as control group. The experimental group was taught by using clustering technique and the control group was taught by using conventional technique. As instrument of the test, pre-test and post-test were given to both of groups. The research findings showed that there was improvement between pre-test and post-test result. It could be seen from the mean score pre-test of experimental group was 48.14 and control group was 46. After giving the treatment, the improvement could be seen for experimental group which had mean score of post-test was 66.89. Meanwhile, the mean score of post-test in the control group was 59.57. On the other hand, T-test was used to know the influence of using Clustering technique toward students‟ ability in writing descriptive text. From the result of t-test calculation in post-test, it was obtained that t-test was higher than t�table (2.274 > 1.996). It means the Ha (alternative hypothesis) was accepted and there is an influence of using clustering technique toward students‟ ability writing in descriptive text at second grade of SMP Negeri 3 Cikupa, Tangerang. In addition, the result of questionnaire showed that all of the students (100%) gave positive responses toward clustering technique.
