Abstract

Poverty is an issue that involves many aspects because it is associated with low income, illiteracy, poor health status and inequality between the sexes and poor environment (Word Bank, 2004). Economic growth and education is an indicator that is often used. The aim of this study was to determine how the variables influence economic growth and education aid poor students against poverty in Banten Province. Data analysis method used is the regression model panel data for time series data from 2010-2013. Based on test results data panel regression model to the data was obtained the following results: First, the partial effect of the different independent variables on the dependent variable; where economic growth is significant positive effect on poverty in Banten province with a coefficient value of 1315.674 and education aid to poor students significant negative effect on poverty in Banten province with the coefficient value of 585.2868. Second, simultaneous variable economic growth and education aid to poor students a significant effect on poverty. Keywords: Poverty, Economic Growth, Education Help Poor Students Fund
