Abstract

The background of this research is based on the condition of science teaching in schools today are still largely conventional and the importance of developing problem-solving abilities. One model of learning which is believed to affect the ability of problem solving is problem-based learning models. This study aims to: 1) Determine the influence of problem-solving ability of students who get science learning with PBL models and students who get science learning with conventional models. 2) Knowing the students' attitude towards the application of science learning Problem based learning model. Research conducted at the primary school Panimbang Jaya 4 Pandeglang with sample class VA and VB for the academic year 2014/2015. Selection of samples using cluster sampling techniques and methods used a quasi-experimental, while the design study is a nonequivalent control group design. Data obtained from the pretest and posttest were analyzed using t-test. Based on the analysis results obtained influence problem solving ability of students who get Problem based learning model is better than students who received conventional learning. Problem based learning model is able to solve the problem-solving ability. As well as students' attitudes toward learning Problem based learning model is positive.
