Abstract

The research was aimed to know the effect of liquid organic concentration to growth and yield of two varieties spinach (Amaranthus sp.) in hydroponic. The research was conducted from May until June 2016 at garden of Pasilian Anyar Village Kronjo Subdistrict Tangerang Regency. The research used Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with 2 factors. The first factor was concentration of liquid organic (P) that consisted of 4 levels, there were : without giving liquid organic concentration / just water (P0), 2,5ml/5l (P1), 5ml/5l (P2), 7,5ml/5l (P3). The second factor was two varieties of spinach (V) that consisted of two standards : green spinach variety (V1) and red spinach variety (V2). Each treathment was repeated 4 times and obtained 32 experimental units. The parameter that was observed were plant height, leaves number, leaves area and wet weight of plants. The result showed that organic concentration was not significant but it tended better for organic concentration 5ml/5l (P2) for plant height 10 DAP (5,28 cm), 13 DAP (6,15 cm), 16 DAP (7,79), 19 DAP (10,34 cm), 22 DAP (12,60 cm). Number of leaves 7 DAP (4,84 leaves), 10 DAP (5,59 leaves), 13 DAP (6,47 leaves), 16 DAP (7,50 leaves), 19 DAP (8,56 leaves), 22 DAP (9,50 leaves), weight plant (2,39 g) and leaves area (18,86 cm iv 2 ). Green spinach variety (V1) gave the best result to growth of plant height 7 DAP (4,75 cm), 10 DAP (5,65 cm), 13 DAP (6,79 cm), 16 DAP (8,73 cm), 19 DAP (11,93 cm), 22 DAP (14,40), Number of leaves 7 DAP (5,55 leaves), 10 DAP (6,28 leaves), 13 DAP (7,09 leaves), 16 DAP (8,45 leaves), 19 DAP (9,19 leaves), 22 DAP (10,36 sheets). Weight plant (2,92 g) and leaves area (21,68 cm 2 ) and there was no interaction. Key words : liquid organic concentration, two varieties of spinach, hydroponic.
