Abstract

Agarwood (Aquilaria malaccensis Lamk.) is one of commodity timber forest products (NTFPs), endangered and need to be reproduce for market consumption. The experiment was conducted in biotechnology Laboratory, Agroekoteknologi department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University from April 2016 to June 2016. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design with 2 factors. 2,4-D concentration as first factor with 4 levels (0 mg/L, 1 mg/L, 2 mg/L and 3 mg/L). BAP concentration as second factor with 3 levels (0 mg/L, 1 mg/L and 2 mg/L). The results showed that the addition of 2,4-d with a concentration of 2 mg/L did not gave effect on callus growth of leaf Aquilaria malaccensis. BAP at different concentrations did not gave effect on callus growth of leaf Aquilaria malaccensis. But it gave significant effect on callus diameter with high value 0,24 cm (B0). Interaction between BAP and 2,4-D affected on all observed variables. Optimum combination of concentration 2,4-D 1 mg/L + BAP 2 mg/L was optimal concentration on callus induction (10 days after planting), 2,4-D 2 mg/L + BAP 0 mg/L on Callus diameter (0,70cm). Callus induction mostly had light yellow green colour and friable texture. Key words: agarwood; BAP; 2,4-D; callus culture.
