Abstract

Increased use in induction motors in industry due to the benefits contained in induction motors, among other forms of light, simple, has a high torque ratio, the ability of a much higher speed, ease of maintenance, etc. Besides the most important feature of an induction motor is an alternative to the DC motor, for a lower cost than a DC motor. Thus in the present situation induction motors consume vast amounts of electrical power and improved efficiency of the motor will reduce electric power consumption, which in turn further reduces costs. Reduction of losses induction motor stator can be performed using a two-layer winding system (Double Layer) so that the value of resistance in the induction motor stator will decline to some extent. Ansys Maxwell a software that can perform mathematical analysis to the design of electrical machines, can allow users to calculate the performance of the electrical machine. Based on the results of the research that has been done, the modification becomes entanglement of Single Layer Double Layer section stator three phase induction motor rotor cage type occurs efficiency increase linearly, in the three phase induction motor 3kW capacity of 64.324% to 66.1998% and the three phase induction motor 7.5kW capacity of 72.3553% to 76.35693%. An increase in the efficiency of three-phase induction motor winding from Single Layer to Double Layer caused by a decrease in the value of winding resistance resulted in a decrease in copper losses. Torque�speed characteristics of the three-phase induction motor 3kW capacity Single Layer winding of 25.7987 Nm of torque at 1111 rpm speed and once modified into a Double Layer amounted to 25.2755 Nm of torque at 1134 rpm speed. While the characteristics of the torque-speed relationship on a three phase induction motor winding capacity 7.5kW Single Layer of 59.2198 Nm of torque at 1210 rpm speed and once modified into a Double Layer producing a torque of 56.60 Nm at 1266 rpm speed. There was a decrease of three phase induction motor torque of winding into Double Layer Single Layer caused by the declining value of the current stator and rotor.
