Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of guided inquiry to the cognitive abilities of students to the concept of the ecosystem class SMA 2 Kota Serang . The method used is the method of quasi- experimental with randomized control group pretest - posttest design. The study population is the entire ten grade students of SMA 2 Kota Serang 2013/2014 with a sample of class X IPA 1 as the experimental class and X IPA 2 as control class by random sampling technique. The ccognitive abilities was measured using the test objective. The results showed that the guided inquiry affect the cognitive abilities students by using the t test t hitung (9,496) > t tabel (1,671).
