Abstract

This study aims to determine whether or not there is a method of Talking Stick Effect on student learning outcomes in social studies. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental design in the form of "Nonequivalent control group design". The research instrument in the form of multiple choice questions as much as 40 grains. The instrument must first be tested in the sixth grade to 30 students. Test the validity of the test results of students' social studies using formulas Point biserial and obtained 30 valid items. Test reliability IPS student achievement test using KR-20 formula. In this study as a class A class V ekspermen using Method Talking Stick and class V B grade control using the lecture method. Based on the pretest data processing obtained value - average experimental class and control class = 62.73 = 54.77 assay results differ in the value of both classes at significant level = 0.05 was obtained = 3.49 and = 2.68. While based on the posttest data processing obtained value - average experimental class and control class = 66.78 = 57.04 differ from test results on the value of both classes gained significant level = 0.05 = 5.17 and = 2.93. Based on the results of this study concluded that there are significant method of Talking Stick on student learning outcomes.
