Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kegunaan video untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara di kelas satu SMP Plus Desa Islam. Peneliti menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif menerapkan desain eksperimen semu sebagai penelitian metode. Ada dua kelompok yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Itu kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Plus Islamic Village, 35 siswa terpilih untuk setiap kelompok. Penelitian menemukan bahwa ada signifikan penggunaan video untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara, ditunjukkan dengan nilai t-test lebih tinggi dari nilai t-tabel (7,41>1,691) pada taraf signifikansi 0,05 dan derajat kebebasan 60. Artinya hipotesis diterima. Dari temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan video efektif untuk mempengaruhi kemampuan berbicara siswa. Semua ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan video di kelas Bahasa Inggris sangat dianjurkan

Additional Information: The objective of this research is to find out the use of videos to improve speaking ability at the first grade of SMP Plus Islamic Village. The researcher used quantitative research implementing the quasi experimental design as research method. There were two groups used in this research. The experimental and control group. Sample of this research is students of SMP Plus Islamic Village, 35 students selected for each group. The research found that there is significant use of videos to improve speaking ability, indicated by the value of t-test higher than the value of t-table (7.41>1.691) at the level of significant of α 0.05 and the degree of freedom of 60. It means that the hypothesis was accepted. From those findings, it can be concluded that the use of videos is effective to influence students’ speaking ability. All these suggest that the use of videos in the class of English is highly encouraged.
