Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh signifikan dari menonton film terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas 8 SMP PGRI 400 Kota Tangerang. Peneliti menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menerapkan metode true desain eksperimen sebagai metode penelitian. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP PGRI 400 Kota Tangerang, dan sampelnya yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 8 C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas 8 A sebagai kelas eksperimen kelas kontrol. Peneliti menggunakan 60 siswa sebagai sampel dari kedua kelas. Itu kelas dipilih berdasarkan rekomendasi guru. Dengan menggunakan metode ini, peneliti melakukan eksperimen untuk mengetahui pengaruhnya terhadap kelas eksperimen setelah perlakuan. Instrumen yang digunakan peneliti adalah menggambarkan teks struktur generik. Selain itu, peneliti menggunakan konten dan validitas konstruk untuk mengetahui validitas tes dan rumus Alpha Cronbach untuk menguji reliabilitas try out. Setelah mengumpulkan data, peneliti menganalisisnya dengan menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan kemampuan berbicara pada kelas eksperimen signifikan. Bisa dilihat dari hasilnya dari uji-t. Hasil hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa tingkat signifikansi dalam eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,509 sedangkan tingkat signifikansi berdasarkan standar SPSS adalah 0,05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat signifikansi pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol lebih tinggi dari tingkat signifikansi berdasarkan standar SPSS (0,509 > 0,05). Oleh karena itu, nol hipotesis ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif diterima. Jadi, bisa jadi menyimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari keterampilan berbicara siswa dengan menonton film kelas 8 SMP PGRI 400 Kota Tangerang

| Additional Information: | The objective of this research is to find out the significant influence of watching movie toward students’ speaking skill at the 8th grade of SMP PGRI 400 Kota Tangerang. The researcher used quantitative research implementing the true experimental design as research method. The population of this research was all of the students at the 8th grade of SMP PGRI 400 Kota Tangerang, and the sample that was used in this research was the students of 8 C as experimental class and 8 A as control class. The researcher used 60 students as samples from both of classes. The classess were chosen based on the teacher’s recommendation. By using this method, the researcher conducted the experimental in order to find out the influence in experimental class after treatment. The instrument that used by the researcher was described a generic structure text. Moreover, the researcher used content and construct validity to know the validity of the tests and Alpha Cronbach Formula to test the reliability of try out. After collecting the data, the researcher analyzed them by using t-test.The result of this research showed the significant influence of students’ speaking ability on experimental class was significant. It can be seen from the result of t-test. The result of hypothesis showed that the significance level in experimental and control class is 0,509 while the significance level based on default SPSS is 0,05. It shown that the significance level in experimental and control class is higher than the significance level based on default SPSS (0,509 > 0,05). Therefore, the null hypothesis is refused and the alternative hypothesis is received. So, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of students’ speaking skill by watching movie at the 8th grade of SMP PGRI 400 Kota Tangerang | |||||||||
