Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh menonton film berbahasa Inggris terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa di SMA Al-Mubarok Serang pada semester I tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Peneliti melakukan penelitian ini berdasarkan penelitian masalah “apakah ada pengaruh menonton film berbahasa Inggris terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa? kemampuan siswa kelas XI SMA Al-Mubarok Serang?” melakukan penelitian ini dengan menerapkan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan true eksperimental sebagai metode. Dalam penelitian ini, seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Al-Mubarok Serang diambil sebagai populasi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 180 siswa melibatkan dua kelas yaitu kelas XI SMA AL-Mubarok Serang terpilih sebagai sampel dengan menggunakan random sampling. Satu kelas dipilih sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan satu lagi sebagai kelompok kontrol. Sampel sebanyak 60 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil pada penelitian tentang “Pengaruh menonton film berbahasa Inggris terhadap siswa kemampuan berbicara siswa kelas XI SMA Al-Mubarok Serang”, peneliti ditemukan oleh independent t-test pada post-test kedua kelompok. Hasil post-test kedua kelompok 6.097. Berdasarkan tabel distribusi dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05, t-tabel adalah 2.002. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil t-test lebih tinggi dari t-tabel. Artinya ada apakah ada pengaruh signifikan menonton film bahasa Inggris terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa? kemampuan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa film berbahasa Inggris merupakan salah satu media yang tepat yang berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa agar siswa menjadi aktif dalam belajar berbicara.

| Additional Information: | The aim of this research was to find out the influence of watching English movie toward students’ speaking ability at SMA Al-MubarokSerang on the first semester of academic year 2014/2015. The researcher conducted this research bsed on a research problem “is there any influence of watching English movie toward students’ speaking ability at the eleventh grade of SMA Al-Mubarok Serang?”.Ther researcher conducted this reserach by applying quantitative approach with true experimental as a method. In this research, all the students in the eleventh grade of SMA Al-Mubarok Serang were taken as population. The population were 180 students.This research involved two classes of the eleventh grade at SMA AL-Mubarok Serang chosen as sample by using random sampling. One class were chosen as the experimental group and the other one as the control group. The sample were 60 students. The result based on the research about “the influence of watching English movie toward students’ speaking ability at the eleventh grade of SMA Al-Mubarok Serang”, the researcher found by independent t-test on post-test of both groups. The result on post-test of both group 6,097. Based on the distribution table with 0,05 level significance, t-table was 2,002. It showed that the t-test results wer higher than t-table. It means that there was any significant influence of watching English movie toward students’ speaking ability. Based on the results,the researcher concluded that English movie was one of the appropriate media which influence toward students’ speaking ability in order that students become active in learning speaking. | |||||||||
